these two guys are the most retarded animals in the world.

i dont care. i want cheap cars. i dont want to learn making cars. all i care is i want to drive bmw 30k RM. not a single sen more.

and also proton is about making cars. thats it. no technology thing. not about educating people. not about engineering expertise, new added values to own people. people want knowledge go read books. or utube. or sleep with martin winterkorn. heard he sleep talking. sure he can tell how to make cars when he sleeps.

all i want cheap cars.

acquisition of lotus was sick. does it make cars here cheap? no. so if anything done not doing car prices cheap, so it is no good. sick. since 2006 taxes go down but car no cheap. i must blame proton. dont care.

compete to altis are u crazy? this cannot compete with even horse cart. cart cheap no use petrol so sure better. what mahalel done? nothing. he never intended to design small engine or develop such technologies when he acquired mv agusta. so correct la sell for 1 dollar. eh was it 1 dollar? christ somebody bought it off for nearly 100 million years after that!

power window got 5 years warranty also no good. ya la. 5 years too short. must make like 100 years. eh wait. lifetime warranty? it got lifetime warranty? oh shite. wait. wait. must figure something to blame proton. wait. i got it. haa see, 100 years is better than lifetime.

the design is nothing like peter schreyer. or that guy design bmw what his name. forgot but proton, in any way u see it, dont look like 5 series. thats it. i am done.

must bash proton. everyday.

hey u how la fair like this.
make me sound like know nothing is it
haha

but seriously. i hope that is just a mule. it is hideous. SUV is a great vehicle segment proton seriously need to get involve in. of course it is late now everyone got their SUV sold here/asean. what happen with the JV they did with the chinese company and they got this low sloped exora tested few years back? that cud be a great new vehicle if proton decides to introduce a new vehicle.

i thought they got like this JV of which perhaps proton got this opportunity to sell those vehicles here. i mean not as that bad looking as that chinese low slope exora, but few mods here and there i bet that going to be proton version of caldina some sort. of course market size could be a problem but treat that as spin off deal. china is the main market and malaysia/asean should be the other main market. so small volume should do. its win win what.

the other thing is, engine development. seriously they need to get like one new engine for every 5-10 years. that also considered not so good because everyone getting a new one for every 3-5 years.

and that city vehicle. whats going on with that. can they fit one small 1.0 or 1.3 litre engine in that? whats the delay? late Q3 or Q4 2013 atleast they should get that one out already. dont wait la for frazer nash. just get petrol version out first. EV/ hybrid can come later.

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Oct 5 2012, 05:38 PM)
This where we wrong. Nationalism is overrated.
It should business oriented first rather than nationalsm.

With nationalism in practice, the result is Proton at current state.  We want a national car, then you get a national car. We want a cheap car for ourselves, and what we get is cheap parts with heavily tax.

It our own mindset. You and me keep asking proton to produce cheap car for our market, so this is the result. We are sending the wrong message.

So, fcuk off natioanlism in automative industry.  Let Proton become business oriented entity than a nationalism symbol.
*
since we were and still are not that proud or in serious lack of nationalism, the then government went ahead banking on developing the sense of proudness in our people. thinking that somehow our people got that pride little by little as time goes on.

it worked in singapore, although not in auto industry nationalism part. since 1960s the then regime was very tough. stuffs like throwing out trash/rubbish were handle severe punishments. of course at that time when things werent as hygenic as we are now (are we?), that severe penalties irritated most people. but the then government didnt give a hoot about that. generations passed and now singapore is among the cleanest city in the world. better still the newer generations appreciated cleanliness which first was hated by most people. so the hate generation died the new generation learnt. so it did work this 'developing some sense' in our people. in our case, the automotive industry.

people can write hundreds and thousands of essay but it is u that decide. of course those times people were saying tin milo cars, but now tin milo cars no more. the generation that hate proton has slowly gone. some still here. however renewed hate begin to take mould in the form of 'high price of cars' in malaysia. they belonged to two factions this people - one that blamed proton for high price of vehicles, the other blamed the taxes. but both are in serious lack of nationalism. i read one post above spectically mentioned about proton needed to number 1 something something. guess what kid, ur wish already a reality. 10/11 NRMA survey placed proton at no.1 in australia. thats the number game for u.

been on this proton protection thing for couple of years now, but no one - NO ONE - ever able to dispute the fact that protetionism exist. and in the case of korean cars - of which people are so many fond of nowadays (to compare), the protectionism was very very severe. NONE, i repeat, NONE any of the foreign makes were permitted to be sold in korea.

if we were to take such measures for proton protectionism, there would be RIOT.

so people like to compare. a lot. but they compare just whatever they want to compare. cut this into half, that half then compare. of course to make proton a lot worse. but they dont want to compare how passionate the koreans and themselves. the products the koreans making today are results of 20-30-40 years of nationalism and passion by their own people. of course technology and management are other key areas but since u people like to compare then lets compare the most basic two firsts.

i am not championing proton, but it works. and its not that bad as some of u unfairly mentioned. and it not just about making cars. it is a whole industry.
