yup accutane works, with slight side effects, such as dryness, cant be long under the sun, etc.

google on it for more info.

treatment can be seen within days, but not without the adverse reactions. dosage depends on your dermatologist.

Yep, works for me too.

Side effects like dry facial skin & lips - I can live with. Acne is a grumble.gif for me.

I think for me the effects can be seen within a month. My dose is currently being tapered down slowly (after 6 months). No new acne forming. Just trying to get rid of the scars for now.

To avoid this start meditation as it helps to keep away from stress. And visit beauty parlor every weekend so can get clean and clear skin.

have you try to consult with skin specialist for advice? last time i have terrible acne issues, i tried many skin care product and done many facial but dont help. in the end i went to skin clinic and they cure my issues. never deal with any pills, at first they give intro me a kind of skin care that special for acne. after around 2-3 months my acne reduce and very seldom breakout now. then i start deal with the scars and pigmentation issues. same also using clinic intro product and now everything looks fine. both product they intro only can brought from skin clinic with doctor consult.
i think maybe you should give a try. dont so fast into those pills yet as no one know how far the side effect can be.

I finally decided to start Isotretinoin treatment for my acne problem which came all of a sudden in April this year and I'm 28 years old!

Wasted a bomb on facial products, facial, antibiotics etc.. and I guess I should just go for the final medication once and for all (as my derm said this is the only chance to make the acne 'putus akar')

I am prescribed with the generic form Nimegen 20mg. for first 20 days I am to take 20mg (1 pill) after another day. then 20mg once a day subsequently. I'm just on my 2nd pill today, so far so good, the dryness has not occur...

Hopefully can stop soon ..

After i saw a product really popular in facebook called "Lamor2" have a lot people had see result within 7-14 days. A box have 15 sachets cost RM 180, so why not have try. I was surprise is really work. Today is the 12th day i having this products, now my face no more pimples already only left all the pimples scar. But the pimples scar is reduce day by day and my skin is more brighter too. For my experience the pimples scar will take around few month only disappear.

Maybe you can have a try for this product.

but the side effect for accutane i think pretty much u can find from the internet, nothing serious for me, only dry lips, and eyes sensitive to strong light source, these will go away as u finish the course

its not going to work that way

my skin was very oily before taking it, 2 weeks into taking it and still oily, from the third week starting, the oil decrease. 2nd month into it, totally no oil at all, even after sport i only sweat, no more oily feeling...

so taking it once a week, probly not gonna give u any result, at all

I suggest you to use and consume SNE capsules. If possible using the Shamone Purifyier range at the same time too. You will see the effect fast.

you must take in this order:-

1. tetracycline
2. doxycycline

then only if none of the above works u take

accutane.

Please read the side effects before opting this last solution. You might risk of having your organs damaged

Roaccutane is good if you can combat dryness.

I'm on my 3rd month. Hopefully I'll be off this hell pill too. It just makes you really dry but it works!! I've been on my 3rd months and my acnes are gone. Right now I only have scars, but they are fading away slowly. I still have 2-3 months left.

The dryness is really annoying, for my first month it was all dry chapped lips and sometimes my skin and face would be dry. On the 2nd month, I got a nosebleed from it, so the doctor gave me a nasal spray to combat it. It's a good drug, and it works if you're willing to give in to few side effects and also DRINK LOTS OF WATER.

people here are promoting products???? There is a clinical practice guidelines for doctors on acne. You can try to read into it.

http://www.acadmed.org.my/view_file.cfm?fileid=474
http://www.acadmed.org.my/view_file.cfm?fileid=499

My advice is, if you think your acne is serious, please see a "real" dermatologist rather than seeing a normal doctor or buy medicine yourself. You will save yourself a lot of potential trouble.

t3? is it a brand?
I bought many brand and btw usually pharmacy outside dont have it. I'm not talking about pharmacy for medicine, I mean the personal care kind of pharmacy...the one u can find it inside mall ...just walk in and ask for TEA TREE SOAP BAR

make sure its the real one not some tea tree flavor or other knock off read the label before u buy

also to help with acne:
1. DRINK LOTS OF WATER (free)
2. change ur pillow once every month (should cost rm20 for new pillow)
3. Wash ur face with COLD water (free). if u like shower with hot water, just wash ur body first.. ur face always cold water or normal, NOT HOT.

things NOT/NEVER to do:
1. go to dermatologist and get chimecal junk on ur face (cost $$$ and damage ur skin).
2. touch ur acne (will leave scars).

good luck

I've never personally tried the meds, but according to a lot of my customers who consume this meds, you can see result but the side effect is the skin will become very very dry, some even experience skin peeling and itchiness due to the dryness, then the face become red and blushy, it's not for long term consumption i think.

My brother was on this medication, he was around 90+ kg at that time so doctor gave him 40mg of Isotretinoin dose. He took it for a while and the dryness started coming. It was until a point where lip balm was his best friend and his lips will crack severely (added to the fact that my brother drinks little water daily). At 1 point he even stopped taking it just to let his lips heal back a bit as the dry lips and all has started to bleed.

On a personal note, I also took this medication. Mine was 20mg dose, I took it for approx 6-9months. The cracked lips did come but I drank lots of water daily so is mot as severe as my brother. This definitely reduced the oil production on the face and therefore less acne. I've seen many doctors and skin specialists + 3 years. So imagine how much I wanted to get rid of the acne.

My advice, take it if doctor prescribed. Side effects will be there and drink plenty water. Dosage also depends on your mass and age. It helped my brother, sister and I.

Do take note, if you're a woman and trying/is-pregnant it is not advisable to take this medication. It has some effect on the baby/fetus. Ask your doctor more about this.

I've taken this medication before, low dosage though, for like a year or so. What I can say is that it's effective, but being worried I looked up on the internet on its side effects and it scared me a little. Google it to know more. That being said, I have not any case of serious side effects.

Now, my acne is appearing again. Still not sure whether I should continue with the medication. Yet to get my dermatologist's advice.

I've taken accutane before a few years ago. The result is really good but I'm thinking to start taking this again. Anybody knows where to get it cheaper? It's so expensive. I'm taking doxycycline at the moment. Acne is under control but still have small pimples and many whiteheads.

few years ago and it comes back? Was told by my dermalogist that 80% will not suffer it anymore. only 20% will have reoccurance.
I was told to stop all kind of facial. Just wonder, those black head and white head wont go away if dont do hydrating facial right?

actually i was on 20mg. and i did relapse after 2 years and went back to a dermatologist (this was in 2014).. but a different one then the 1st one cos of logistics. this guy was nearer to my office and also well known. but he refused to let me be on it for long.. said max was only 3months. i practically begged him to give me for the 4th month which he did. [i think that is his strategy la.. give u enough to last for a while and then relapse and make u come back again.. hmm.gif mad.gif

nways.. it has been 2 years since the 2nd time and still doing ok.. only minor and occasional zits. nothing major and i think it is mostly of stress. hope it sticks this time though.

[i think that is his strategy la.. give u enough to last for a while and then relapse and make u come back again..  hmm.gif  mad.gif

nways.. it has been 2 years since the 2nd time and still doing ok.. only minor and occasional zits. nothing major and i think it is mostly of stress. hope it sticks this time though.
the 2nd time with the different dermatologist - it was rm10 or rm11  sweat.gif

Was on Accutane for last few months. Just got off about 3 weeks ago.
My derm charge the same for 20mg and 10mg. I did 3 months 20mg then 2 months 10mg. RM200 for 30 pills include consultation.

*But my derm prescribe me generic one la. Not the Roaccutane one.

Probably can. But not sure how long you'll have to wait to get your referrals and also probably need your acne to be bad enough for them to prescribe.

thanks for the info, expensive drugs. sweat.gif
I think it's hard to get it in govt hospital, but it's definitely cheaper than private clinic prescription.

Avoid Accutane if possible. It has side effects.

Learn the type your skin you have and treat it well to balance off. Then you will notice your acne problem will reduce.

Isotretinoin should not be taken without proper briefing, especially ladies. It may cause deformed babies if got pregnant while under effect of isotretinoin.

Isotretinoin attempt to solve pimple issues by stopping your oil glands from functioning. So a guaranteed side effect is severe dry skin.

Drink more water, get more sleep, try using "differin " tretinoin on affected areas. Differin is similar to retin A without the sensitivity to sun and dryness. But still try to avoid too much sun when using it.

Also use a suitable skin cleanser such as cetaphil or simple facial wash.

Better to use natural products. No side effects and safe to use. Argan oil is best for skin. Many research has been proven the goodness of Argan oil.

Hi everyone, I hope you have a good ahead.

I have been taking Accutane for 2 months from now, doctor advised me to have 6 months treatment before deciding on the next step. (1 capsule every 2 days)

I am aware that the most common side effect of having it that include dryness and redness. However, do you all experience having more breakouts after having Accutane? It relates to me !!! I have a lot of big pimples popping out after having Accutane for nearly two months. May I know if this is normal?

I am currently not at my state and I am kinda busy with my work. I can only visit my doctor again in 1 month time. I am in two minds if I should continue having the Accutane since it causes me more pimples (at the beginning*),

For you information, I got my medication from Dr Lim (Lim Skin Specialist Clinic) at Penang.
