just back from TGV watching The Hobbit.now I know where the hell Bilbo get the ring & The Sting cant wait for the 2nd movie!

tgv suck big time so expensive with lame sound and picture quality , fo LFS lotus in town they are cheper, better tuned sound stage and dynamics and better tuned projector compare to tgv ipoh.. sucky... never ever go tgv ever again.. their pop corn is worse... all uncooked crumples... try Lotus's pop corn. on and off i purposely go buy it haha even not seeing movies...

never go to lotus before this.they used to show tamil movies long time ago but now after they renovate they also shows english & malay movies too.

i think they are better now, with new setup

if only the place is well-placed (it seems hidden somehow)

last watched star wars episode 1 3D there, so much better atmosphere

even at station 18 the sound stage there sucks... totally lack dynamics and lack directional ... totally crappy sound but their screen is nice though, much better than TGV and GSC ipoh...

u guys gotta try LOTUS ... i was skeptic at first also... but once u try, u never goes to other cinema... totally blown away by the experience.. really the true cinema experience...
their pop corn u can actually finish eating the whole box... not like tgv and gsc,... crap...

Ive been to Golden Lotus Many Times b4 but i still think that the sound system in Station 18 is better. Infact Id rate my ipoh cinemas like this:

top place Station 18 TGV; good ambiance, nice screen, sound system and lots of big screen cinema.
2nd Golden Lotus interms of pricing and cinema
3rd TGV Kinta City, but i feel safer going there since not so quiet at night
4th GSC (worst GSC that ive been to since 7 yrs ago) if there are no free invites or friends inviting me there I would never step in. Only been there once in 7yrs

agreed... gsc... is filled with scumbag talking and screaming during movies... avoid... well.. i been to ss18 one several times... sound still okay only. dynamic range is still lack compare to lotus.. their bass can really pump ur heart. just watching trailers alone is a joy there.. and 3d projector lotus is better than ss18, cause they use THX optimised glasses.. not the cheapo passive ones ss18 give out free.,... that one so much cross talk and ghosting in 3d..

I only go to GSC if no money to go TGV lol.and to play bowling too.

The last time I went was to Kinta City. It's been a while that I didn't watch any movie at the cinema. Feels like a peon. Work! Work!

U should try Golden Lotus at wisma perak next time its more affordable and much higher in value than LOUSY IPOH GSC

hahah no lah i used to scare of that place. lots of indians.. taught its a low class cinema.. after few times, totally feel comfortable, the staff looks threatening but matter of fact they are very friendly and the place is quite safe... though hefty rm2 parking, but got the guard , looking after the well lit place... but still i will never go there alone haha... i go there with my wife or friends mostly...

I go there after work, like while the sun is still out. only been there once at night
