I did a test this evening.
1. Took my own jack and one from my mum's car, and jacked up the rear end until the wheels were clear of the ground. 2. Handbrake down (after blocking the front wheels with bricks). 3. Tried to spin the wheels. 4. Gosh. The right wheel drumbrake is pretty jammed, kenot spin on its own. Took a lot of force just to move it. 5. Left one is much better, it nearly spins freely but there's a spot in the rotation where it's slightly stuck too. Got 1500 km left to 50k serbis. Go next week or when I hit 50k in about a month's time? |

QUOTE(dares @ Oct 7 2012, 10:43 PM) It didn't affect your FC? Get the jammed side fixed soon or you'll be needing new brake shoes soon, maybe new drums which will not be cheap. Oh yes it did Very well then. Will make appointment tomorrow morning to serbis on Tuesday. It's about time to check, because my brakes have been squealing a lot lately. QUOTE(motherker @ Oct 10 2012, 06:53 PM) guys, im having a 2010 saga se manual. I have a 2010 SE manual too, and when I was in KL/PJ I could consistently hit 400 km+ on one tank. My record so far is 546 km, dunno if I'll be able to beat that in future ever since i got the car, i was getting about 250km for rm50 of petrol. (80% city drive) however, in the past 3 months i've only been getting 200km+- for the same amt of fuel. i've complained to SC and they changed iafm and canister purge valve for me. after the change, there is no difference in FC. it is still crazily high. i admit im a heavy footed driver. but then it cant be this crazy right? im wondering does the car require an ecu reset? after the changes made by sc? im sick of this crazy consumption. any solution pls? dun suggest me to chg my driving style, i own a 1.5 city vtec and it gives me at least 300km per rm50 . Anyway besides your right foot you should also check other things like your tyre pressure, air filter and other stuff. You can try other brand of fuel too, I normally use Petronas Primax 95 Xtra but lately I'm on Caltex Techron 95. Though in my experience it doesn't make much difference. Ultimately the most important thing is still your driving style and if you don't want to change that you're not going to see improvements. Why not drive gently for a change to see what your car is capable of? I'd suggest you sign up for a Fuelly account and log your consumption there. That way you can keep track and see how you're doing over time. QUOTE(calvin_kenni @ Oct 10 2012, 07:20 PM) Clearly infected dy |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Oct 11 2012, 09:06 AM) davidke20, what are your usual vacuum readings? My Persona seem to have touched 10in/Hg when gear engaged and air-con. Accelerating easily drops vacuum to 5 or less. Idle without aircon is about 17-19. I don't seem to recall the vacuum being so low before I went for a holiday. Bear in mind that his gauge reads in bar and not inhg. |
