QUOTE(shockk @ Apr 3 2013, 05:08 PM) hey guys. suddenly interested in this RC heli hobby. what you guys reckon a beginner buy? i've heard that more expensive ones with powerful motors are easier to fly due to their better power-to-weight ratio. also, are gas-powered RC helis still available? might be interested in those too. budget 4-5k. and my aim is to build a nice heli with Airwolf fuselage (with all the bells and whistles like retractable landing gear, etc). hope sifu can shed some light on what to get and the recommended shops. i've so far heard of Hobbysportz Paradigm Mall and RC Smart Amcorp Mall. I'm from PJ area myself btw. cheers. what i heard from my friend (i'm a beginner myself) start with cheap and small plane/heli electric heli first.but good radio can be good for heli, go for v911 micro electric heli..don't go those big electric/fuel heli first coz the blades are strong and fast, can chop off your fingers very easily not sure for plane tho..

QUOTE(QiW @ Apr 11 2013, 10:52 AM) i have flown 911 .. similar size CP helis ... 250 size helis .. 450 size helis .. 600 size helis just telling u from experience ... hehehe i have even tried flying the 911 into wall (not so hard la) to see how crash resistant it was the result ... i did not even have to go pick it up .. i just throttled up and flew it again 911 can be found for around rm100 or less and comes with 2 batteries and charger and radio no big $ there ... just buy and fly it la dunno why my v911 cannot throttle to it fly up..sometimes the motor will stuck and all i hear is sound and some vibration..

QUOTE(zamorin @ Apr 19 2013, 02:58 PM) I got myself a v911 type helicopter and all I do when I try to fly it, is crash it. So I got myself a bigger heli (V-max) but that crashed on the very first flight (into the neighbor's roof) and cannot fly properly, it just keeps rotating on the ground. I have changed the stabilizer bar, had to resolder the wire and change other parts on the v911. I'm thinking, this r/c helicopter hobby is not for everybody. Even hovering indoors takes so much of an effort and only to crash it. I think I'm giving up on this as I'm not going anywhere. Or maybe I'll try the FPV type flying. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. hovering is quite hard actually, took me 2 days to not crash so much on the air ( still can't hover smoothly ). btw, how do you crashed your v911? my v911 survived at least 30 times of crash lol
