Hey, i'm actually interested to assembly one quadcopter myself.

Where do you get started?
*
QUOTE(QiW @ Apr 12 2016, 06:31 PM)
1st u will need a remote control
2nd a kit or u can build one yrself
3rd electronics to suit the frame u built
4th batteries to suit your copter
Charger to charge yr batts too..

The ez way is to just buy a ready to fly thing with all those already.. No need to build etc.. Much cheaper too
Buy if coz do not compare the flight quality etc etc la
*
not to mention tools required if u go d.i.y

a ready to fly quad do ease for starting, some recommanded was eachine racer 250 from banggood. DONNOT GET walkera runner250..... too fragile

Some of items i'll may be getting below. Feel free to comments any suggestions? I'm still undecided most of the parts, would definitely like to fly with FPV

Item
Flight controller                          AfroFlight Naze32 Acro (bought this)
FPV transmitter                          TS5823 200mW
FPV Camera                        recommendation??
FPV headset/monitor                recommendation??
FPV receiver                        recommendation??
Radio Receiver                        FrSky D4R-II or any recommendation??
Radio System (Transmitter)        Turningy 9xPro with DJT module (will it work with FrSky D4R-II?)
Brushless motor                      DYS 1806/2300KV
ESC                                    Afro ESC 12A (SimonK) *bec or ubec, whats the diff?*
ESC power distribution board      ZMR250
Prop GemFan 5040                    50/40
250mm body                        ZMR 250 Mini Quad Kit (bought this)
*
since you not yet have a radio, with a liitle more top up u can get frsky taranis x9d plus

for esc, it would better to stick to 20A like the little bee
for a 250mm size frame, with 1806 motor, whole quad will fly slow if u are on 3s battery, will be a beast if on 4s pack,

just to remember, more weight u put on, lesser flight time plus lesser respond the quad

Frsky taranis x9d plus - which hobby shop sells here?

So the 12A easily burn up more then 20A?

Which motor you recommend other than 1806?

Thanks!
*
if u are within klang valley, 2 shop u can try your luck on x9d plus: myrccorner in setia alam klang or rcsmart at amcorp mall pj

and since u on banggood, might as well get little bee esc from there

2204 motor on 3s battery setup, or go 4s battery
or 2205/2206 motor with 4s battery setup for crazy speed(not recommanded for beginner)

I'm a beginner, so guess the 1806/2300kV would be sufficient enough for start.

The price stated in rcsmart/myrccorner online -> RM1100/1200 pheww  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

fpv stuff, try hobbygeng in endah parade, they selling the famous hs117 fpv camera, any 200mw vtx(video transmitter) will be sufficient -> aomway kinda nice

other stuff such as esc(try buy extra piece for backup), motor dys or emax will do the job, don go branded unless u are ready to burn your wallet

power distribution board would be nice for clean up cabling unless u know electronic stuff and solder all wires together
14awg wires for batteries connector
3s 1500mah to 2000mah 30-60c lipo batteries will be good for your quad
good quality charger

make sure u have good quality soldering iron too

for your case, is best to do frsky ppm since u are on naze32 rev5, less cable, less mess, and if u are using taranis x9d, u can enable soft serial telemetry from flight controller to your remote with extra connection between fc and rx

Nice ... im guessing you got a lot of flying hours with those quads. I just can't wait till the parts arrive and assemble them myself. Soldering skills a bit rusted.
*
de first one only flown 6 times only, but crash alot, still troubleshooting what went wrong with th vtx lost signal less than 100meter, is a rtf F210 from walkera, quite tough

plan properly before solder, else u going to be pain in the a* trying to desolder

Do you use a PDB circuit board for your ESC's and FPV?

What i am planning to do for Power distribution is to use a piece of copper, split it to +/-. That's where all the power goes
*
yeap, pdb, lazy to splice + can switch between 3s n 4s battery anytime without overhaul

Is the wiring diagram setup ok? I've not add the FPV yet as i'm still figuring out the connections..any comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks thumbup.gif

your diagram missing 5v to power your fc naze32 & receiver, separated 1A BEC to power up fc is recommanded.

For the fc naze32 it will be powered up by the ESC BEC (linear) 5v. Picture below is the ESC BEC linear that i had bought from HobbyKing.

The D4R-II receiver will be getting the 5v supply from fc naze32 when i will solder the PPM together.
*
just pre-caution as these linear bec heats up quite bad, just make sure u test few spin b4 bring to field, wothout blades off cource!!! throttle test 1-2 minute and stop, gently touch the esc, if esc heats up until u barely touch it, separate bec is the only way as the esc works too hard to power motor while regulate 5v.

and if u are using frsky x9d, receiver will also send the it's own 5v telemetry status feed back to radio, from there u will know if the 5v drop out of range or not

ok, thanks for the heads up...will test the ESC's before real flight. throttle test to 100%?

100% for less than 2 sec on 3s battery with 1806 motor and 12A esc

do not try on 4s battery, magic smoke going to haunt u
