Hi guys I am relatively new to rc quadcopter flying. Have started flying since the past month. My current issue is I am only limited to a small football field which is about only 100 metres in length. And the sides are filled with trees. Also I am only free to fly only on weekends and on occasion, the field would be used for the local amateur football matches and practices. So all these factors does limit me from improvising my skills further. And there is actually very little info that I could find over the net as to the locations of specialized flying field for our hobby. Since you guys are seasoned fliers, I would like to seek your expertise on where are the good flying spots in the vicinity of KL? Any suggestion as to where in KL or slightly out of KL where there is an extremely large flying field without any obstacles such as trees and building?

Camera rotate guna channel 7ch atau 8ch untuk pan rotate servo (servo hxt900 mode 180 degree)

Sini dah saya buat blog untuk FPV mustang:
http://www.supermotoxl.com/FPV/UAV-models-...enu-id-119.html

Ya av out. Buleh fly antara 5~7km guna 5.8ghz patch antenna. Dalam gambar kat atas buleh nampak saya pegang radio dan vrx module kedua-dua guna patch antenna untuk jarak jauh.

too bad drone guna 5.8ghz wifi digital downlink...range less than 1km.... maybe later add booster with higher gain antenna

You use 5.8ghz Wifi? Oh no...anything 'digital' wifi always short range.  You must use analogue type 5.8ghz (the same technology use by CCTV cam) cos they can travel longer than Wifi.  I only use stock minimal 200mw for my 5.8ghz still go very far.  Booster will make it worse since it will 'knock' several type of frequency nearby.
*
yeap...stock bird already came with digital 5.8ghz wifi....
and cant do much because the fpv monitor also built in the tx...

not sure if changing from patch antenna into clover leaf antenna would help in better video feed?

What kind of stock bird are you flying. A quad or a plane?  Sound like HUBSAN since its the only thing reminds me of.
Btw i saw collection of cheap analogue 5.8ghz FPV models right here, looks like a great bargain here:
http://goo.gl/w8kNpF  That SYMA looks promising.
*
yuneec typhoon 4k...decent enough...just want more reliable fpv especially during orbiting big building that blocking direct signal between tx to the quad

Not sure, but i just surf with the wind and few minutes later i'm up here. But that's a normal height. Its not high enough.
*
thats definately looks like more than 400ft brows.gif more like around 400m atleast...

i'm planning to get 5.8ghz wifi booster 3watt or 5watt version....still planning.... brows.gif

Hello there, I'm also using Typhoon Q500 4K, just bought last week. By any chance do you know any local group using the same quad? noob here, want to read more.
*
not sure....

usually i surf in yuneec-forum...

as for yuneec's parts in malaysia there is rcsmart.com.my in amcorp mall... (but direct order is cheaper)

its not fast or have massive range...but good for video as the flight is smooth

Direct order is cheaper meaning order direct from yuneec? I'm looking for the backpack.

And yup bought this solely for videography purposes. Thanks bro for the tips.
*
like their distributor (horizon hobby or carolina dronz or similar)

new interesting accessories is like the nd filter kit, and decal kit

backpack: http://carolinadronz.com/collections/vendors?page=2&q=Yuneec

Thanks, here's some more flight.  This one on my FPV drone P-51D Mustang from last weekend flight. Unfortunately flown trapped inside the clouds on my way back but manage to get out before got fully soaked.

so what actually happens when stuck in the cloud? rough flying? or total lost signal?

do you have telemetry system?

anyone play rc truck (maybe wrong thread)
so i wanna buy some truck to play near my apartment
i cant always flying my plane because my family, time and place
so if truck i can play behind my apartment while my kiddo play at playground

i wanna brought nitro truck (ade bunyi baru stim),
but my friend said, nitro hard to maintain, easy to rosak
if i want, buy petrol terus but no rm2.5k, no petrol truck

so, betul ka nitro hard to maintain, setting?
*
keep it stock and well serviced....nitro is fine....keeping a lipo battery in good shape also quite troublesome...

nitro engine need glow plug cleaning,u need starter motor device and glow plug heater (for start up)...but to me nitro more stim than battery....u will never regret em...

I got that whistling.gif

because flying 3d drone not cheapo drone.
specially the drone with gps.

Still haven bought a drone yet, because haven solve battery charging problem.
like: charging 6x 1s 800mah battery in a time....or, 4x 2s 1200mah in a time...
Just now watching this video help a lot.
http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/parallel-lipo-charging.html

Specially on parallel charging which what I want to.
but there also need to choose good charger and good power supply that me langsung don know how to do.
*
get the parrallel charging board and atleast imax b6 charger or higher ampere digital charger....

but i wouldnt recommend using that board...not all battery pack and battery cell in same condition...most of the time that board is usable....but for better battery consistency just charge 2 battery at a time using dual output capable charger....

For the charger, I going take this.
http://www.banggood.com/SkyRC-IMAX-B6-Digi...r-p-912239.html

Also got problem on choosing power supply. because not enough amp supply sound pretty creepy too.

because from the SupermotoXL suggest, get the laptop adapter as power supply.
but now day i think all 19~19.5v.... sweat.gif
So far no idea where to get 11~18v high amp power supply
which dual output charger you can suggest, first time join rc don know much very abou that
*
laptop power supply is usually 12v 5amp.... but usually higher amp charger even more expensive..

example dual charger:

normal dual: http://hitecrcd.com/products/chargers/acdc...charger/product
high wattage dual: http://hitecrcd.com/products/chargers/dcdc...charger/product

or quad battery charger: http://hitecrcd.com/products/chargers/acdc...charger/product

100m only?  Then some must be something going wrong with your Video TX module, check your antenna make sure the grounding plug is properly connected. Usually for that model the video can go as far at 1km at least.  My cheap low end Skyzone 200mw 5.8ghz video module can go almost 2km using home made 10sen antenna on diy cheapo home made foam quadcopter here:

is there any way to convert the digital wifi 5/8ghz fpv feed into analog that can go much longer distance? and more stable feed around obstacle?

Video: 36KM flight 51 minutes and i'm using Li-On battery(LG MJ1 18650) consume 50%

On this exciting 51 minutes of 36km long range autonomous flight of my Volantex Ranger 757-4 you're getting a chance to see actual performance of this plane as i flip around the menu of live feed telemetry data from speed, head speed, climbing m/s, power consumption per-speed, angles, GPS lock, distance, 3DR radio range (some part of the range conection delayed is it goes further) and most importantly may i remind you i'm using superlightweight "LG MJ1 18650" Li-On battery instead of Li-Po pack.  It provides me 10,500mah 3s instead of 5200mah with both almost of same weight.  At the end of the flight it consume 50% of total capacity which i assume i can push another extra mile on my next flight.  On Li-on i can push up to 9.7V for 120min as tested during my previous ground test but on this video i completed the 36km mission with 10.5v on the ground.  The weather becomes gradually windy on half part of the journey.  I hope you enjoy this long flight and all the details and spec you wanted to know on this plane is in this video.

so it was directly compabtible with 3s lipo esc? or do i need some sort of converter?

Nope you can't but if your camera have video out just buy an analog 5.8ghz video transmitter and that's it. Done.
Yup compatible but have to charge at 1A rating.
Here's photo my buddy help me building a Li-On pack for my plane:

now my issue left is building the pack and packaging of the battery mount inside the drone..

QUOTE(QiW @ May 10 2016, 05:07 PM)
18650 lithium batts are way too heavy ..
i use them in my vape devices
*
well i've looked and calculate, the 18650 battery pack that is about the same weight as my drone 3s lipo battery pack at about 420gram and 18650 pack at 450gram.... but huge capacity advantage for the 18650 pack....

while 3s lipo at the same weight with just 6300mah...

the 12v 18650 pack with same weight rated at 7800mah....thats a good amount of extra capacity for about to extra 5minutes of flying

Yup, he's right Li-on is suitable for low current (A) consumption such as single motor plane or anything that runs under 10A constant throttle.  The good news is with that you will have more stable current capacity over time and also more runtime since it can be drain best at 2.8~2.6v before 2.5v unlike Li-po where it quickly drops voltage starting 10.3v till un-usable 9.9~9.8v (3.3V per-cell).  Anyways you guys should wait for my video again,  it will show how current was use properly on Li-On or else watch my previous video where 50% capacity left during landing.

The good news for coreless brushed motor quad (low current) power quad) it fly almost forever with a single cell of Li-on. Unfortunately your motor will overheat since its based on brushed motor, so more likely will wobble due to overheating motor.  My friend tried it on Syma flown over 30min then the motor burned....still have more juice left on that battery
*
should be ok for slow flying quad like typhoon Q500..

because the stock Lipo battery rated 6300mah 3s1p with Maximum Continuous Discharge : 10C, Maximum Burst Discharge : 15C rite? drool.gif
