What tablet are you guys using? My friend bought a Wacom, small in size, cost her RM270, now the price is around RM230.

Is this the cheapest brand can get at shops? tongue.gif

Wacom is the recomended tablet for all professionals.. but I think there might be other brands undiscovered. But world recognition is more towards Wacom since their models are rather high end. smile.gif

come on...if u r serious in digital painting.. Wacom Tablet is absolutely worthy to invest.
At least get their Graphire series.

dun ever trust others brand if u cannot test em on the spot.

Wacom is an international honour product. Lotsa artists using this brand. Guess this is the only brand u can buy without testing it(so far).

some brand,u will feel like drawing on a glass. Sometimes their stroke will comes out awkward n strange.

totally agree with dinodog_Jr. wacom is undoubtly the most essential tool in digital painting. depending on ur purpose, usage & budget, u can choose either the simpler Graphire series or the more potential Intous series. i own a Graphire4 which is enough to serve my multimedia purposes but when it comes to digital painting, Intous3 will be the big dog.

forget about using the Grapphire for graphic work as it sucks. Get the one above it, I believe it's called the Intuos.

i only check on Intuos 3 price range. I bought at SG 330. 4x5 size. Bought at Sim Lim Plaza, Singapore.

6x8 will be another SG150 to SG200.

Lowyat is hard to find last time. U can try to ask 4th Floor. Intuos adverstisement at their shop stall.

(Well, they sell at high price..)

U can wait for Pc fair if u want..

TAke note the Intuous 3 got short-cut btn on the drawing pad which allow to set ur favo hot keys.

i dunno bout graphire series performance.

p/s: I think Startec can order. Just give em downpayment.

I have been using a Wacom Graphire 2 4x5 for years, and now I'm using an Intuos 3 6x8. Invest in at least a graphire, that's my advice. I tried 2 other brands and damn, it can't beat a Wacom. Particularly because their pens include batteries and the sensitivity is different.

Wacom Graphire do the thing now. Serves my purposes.

Though when I got the money, Intuos is a definite must.

I just called up All IT, Lowyat. They are selling RM680 for the A5 size Graphire 3. Crazy!!

The small one will do ler. sweat.gif

Saw this crazy price Wacom monitor tablet costing SG5000 at IT fair from SG days ago...

The touch on the screen is just like drawing stroke on the tablet.

Very smooth n impressive output.

now THAT is my dream birthday present!

i've been using graphire 2 for about 4 years now. bought it in imbi plaza. the retail price at the time was rm399, but somehow i managed to get a bargain of rm250! bought the thing right there.

i've tried other tablets. most are not as good as wacom, in terms of pressure sensitivity, tilt, function, speed, resolution and ease of use.

i have a graphire 2 for 5 years now. Always wanted to change a bigger, better and newer one, but this one never seem to rosak!

I don't know y'all, but I do feel the graphire 2's size is just the size I need.. the bigger ones which i've tried are seemingly occupying a lot of space on the table.. Maybe i'm not used to it shakehead.gif

u know what, i've found a reason why i need a bigger tablet. the bigger tablet is more accurate when drawing. for example, try drawing a circle on the smaller graphire2, and compare with the bigger ones. the smaller size means even the slightest jolt on ur stroke will be translated exponentially on screen. means u have to be really, really steady using smaller tablets.

to add to that, bigger tablets allow u to use bigger, wider strokes (arm strokes rather than just wrist strokes).

now i'm just waiting for the price to get a wee bit more affordable wink.gif

i bought my IT3.. it provided three xtra plastic white nibs(same to the original one), one black nib and one grey wif mini spring nib.

You need to pull out the nib & change their position when u feel it is "dull".

Guess all these nibs enuff for u to use until 8 years? HAHA...

Sorry, back to Q.. i dunno where to get these original nibs too..

OMG, RM380 is over-priced. Lowyat Cycom selling at RM320, i got mine for RM300. Bought it from a lecturer, through a Wacom distributor. Comes with 1 year warranty.

I'm still reading the manuals, going to instal the driver soon and see my lines straight or not. tongue.gif
