QUOTE(throx @ Mar 6 2006, 01:36 PM) I wonder how's the performance compare to Athlon64 x2 @2.7GHz. I'm still incline to buy AMD. if your X2 can do 2.7ghz, are u really gonna run that as your everyday setting? even the 4.4ghz on the Pentium, i'm pretty sure that's only for benching so if you're comparing performance, compare on stock, or on slightly overclocked settings instead IMO of course

ahh, guess if you're a folder thats a different case for non-folders, it wouldnt make a difference, other than taking more energy guess its also a matter of preference

QUOTE(throx @ Mar 7 2006, 09:55 AM) Yes, I fold. So stable oc does mean a lot to me. Dual core is really great for folders as we can do other stuff on one core and fold on the other core. On stock, x2 3800+ sure win over D920. My concern is whether a D920@4.2GHz can beat 3800+@2.7GHz or not. the X2 would have been overclocked by 900mhz, that's 50% over its stock speed the 920 would have been overclocked by 1.4ghz, that's also 50% since the X2 wins on stock, i'm guessing it'll win on those settings too? just my guess la btw, dont u guys take in power consumption when choosing procs?
