Overclocking Pentium D!!???!!?!?
OMG, it is a toaster. I guess ur mobo cant stand with the heat and the high power consumption at peak over a long period.
Ur mobo is the 1st thing to die.
most of the Pentium processor start throtling at 65C. Just keep under the temperature will be fine. Good Luck.

QUOTE(KilJim @ Mar 7 2006, 04:53 AM) btw, dont u guys take in power consumption when choosing procs? I guess not, especially when you are buying a desktop chip. If you are getting a chip for your laptop then you have to take into account for battery life and heat. But for a desktop, no! Free flowing from the wall socket and my PC isn't going anywhere - my PC + Mach 2 GT weighs a TON! ehhehehe This post has been edited by kcnyc: Mar 16 2006, 03:46 PM

After some survey through google, I believe this is a great oc chip. Can easily go beyond 4GHz with air cooled. Somemore it is RM300 cheaper than x2 3800

Was thinking of trying the 805 too. compared to previous P4 530(that procs kong edi ) and A64 3000+ venice.. P4 530 vs Pentium D 805 not much diff.. just with 805 multitasking is really3x syiok.. much better.. lag free in every task in OS.. and much more overclockable.. venice in multitasking is quite bad i can say.. but gaming, 3dmark, superPI, both intel lose to simple 3000+ venice.. believe me.. davidhomestudio, time for you to get a new board if u want to oc. AFAIK, intel 945 board doesn't have OC option.
