Why don't you try methylcobalamin ?

You can find generics in the pharmacies, the original being Methylcobal by Eisai.

Also sold as a supplement, Mecomin, by Livewell.

http://www.livewell2u.com/products.php?p=mecomin

Standard dosage is 500 mcg 3 times daily.

Also common in health food stores, sublingual form, 1,000 to 5,000 mcg.

Sprays too.

Preferably give the other acive form of B12, adenosylcobalamin, or dibencozide
as well.

" Adenosylcobalamin (dibencozide), another highly active form of vitamin B-12,
is essential for energy metabolism and is required for normal myelin sheath
formation and nucleoprotein synthesis. Deficiencies are associated with nerve
and spinal cord degeneration. "

I've given this to my father before.

Dear storm04,

My mom was diagnosed to suffer from Trigeminal Neuralgia and is currently on medication of lyrica (150mg per day) and carbamazepine (200mg per day). Her pain is at the V1 branch (above eyes) of the trigeminal nerve. Medicine was effective initially but now the pain appears in another facial location though it is still within the V1 branch.

May I know if the symptoms/sickness is similar to your mom's ? And if the new prescribed anti-depressant (amitriptyline and luvox) is consumed in addition to lyrica and carbamazepine ? Any side effects and what is the dosage ?

Thank you in advance for answering.

@jakek u can always opt for medical treatment. If not u can go for operation to receive duce d pain. Can go for microvascular decompression / ablation. We have seen some good results so far.

I would like to recommend you to try neurofeedback and neuro-hypnotherapy methods.

CASE STUDY OF TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA USING NEUROFEEDBACK AND PERIPHERAL BIOFEEDBACK
http://www.eegspectrum.com/applications/ch...minalneuralgia/

Hypnotherapy is a useful adjunctive psychotherapeutic procedure used in various conditions such as pain disorders, atopic dermatitis, and alopecia areata. However, it is less utilized in the field of dermatology. Only limited data exist on its role in the management of various skin diseases. There is dearth of literature on the role of hypnotherapy in Hansen's disease (HD). We report two cases of HD, one with very resistant neuralgia and the other with recurrent erythema nodosum leprosum (ENL). Both the patients were assessed using hospital anxiety and depression scale, dermatology life quality index and the neuralgia was assessed using the visual analog scale. Three sessions of hypnotherapy were given to both the patients. There was dramatic improvement in the incidence of ENL and neuralgia and we could rapidly reduce the dose of drugs used for both conditions.

May I know who can I go to confirm that I'm having trigeminal neuralgia?

I'm 30 yr old female and I have this pain on my right side of my jaw/ gum area.
I went to the dentist countless times but he said nth is wrong with my gum or my root. He think my pain is very vague and don't blif that I'm suffering.
I went to GP, he prescribed some antibiotics which are not easing my pain at all.
I wish to go to a specialist to confirm if i am really having TN.

I do not want to keep taking antibiotic and suffering here. The pain started 2 yrs back and it comes and go.
It stopped for abt 4 mth this yr and it came back attacking me (unbearable pain anymore).

I have this sharp pain on my right face area whenever I talk, brush teeth, gargle, drink water and eat. I'm suffering and I need help from a true professional.
