Hi, I just finished my A-Levels, and will receive my results in August.

I am contemplating to study pharmacy in Australia, particularly in Monash or Queensland. However I am still open to any other options.

My questions are as follows:
1) Does the recognition of the degree from Monash Malaysia differ from Australia? A similar example would be the MBBS program from Monash Malaysia differs from Monash Australia in Singapore in terms of recognition, as all 5 years must be completed in Australia itself.
2) An acquaintance told me he chose Monash Malaysia over Australia due to the fact he would have some sort of disadvantage in applying for the internship in Malaysia after graduating, I honestly disagree. Is there some sort of rule or priority pool for local graduates which im not aware of?
3) Sorry to put this bluntly haha, but I was kinda lazy to read the previous posts, is there truly a future glut in Pharmacists in the future?
4) What does specialized Pharmacy mean? Is it similar to specialization in Medicine, where its like a whole qualification with tests etc? If it is as such, is there any local institutions which offer such qualifications? Is it recognized in Malaysia? Will I have an advantage compared to other graduates with employability, ranking etc?
5) Would you recommend furthering my postgraduate studies in Pharmacy? I was told furthering your studies in Pharmacy only opens opportunities for lecturing.
6) Haha actually is there a difference between the 4 year Bachelor of Pharmacy in Australia and the 4 year Master in Pharmacy in UK?
Thank you, I look forward to a favorable reply

1) not sure
2) not rly. its based on when u got called for interview with SPA and availability of PRP post in hospitals. (if you wanna go to govt). You can always opt for community or industrial career path.
3) erm. theres always job for registered pharmacists anywhere. look at job street. people are hiring pharmacist all the time and the salary is quite competitive. not sure whats the situation like in 5 years time tho. diff situation for prp in govt hospitals. waiting time can be up to 1year.
4) I dunno abt private sector but in govt hospital, there are no post for pharmacy specialist. the incentive of being a specialist in certain area of clinical pharmacy in govt is not the same as being a specialist in medical field. No benefit. Just more responsibility. But MOH currently planning on introducing the specialization. I dunno the detailed plan, but dont get ur hopes up.
5) YES. theres a lot of field you can further ur study into. ie clinical, medicinal chem, practice, pharmacoeconomics etc. private industries certainly would be interested in hiring ppl with good qualifications as well as experience. you weigh the benefit.
6) no diff. both are undergraduate level.
