is anyone here expecting to graduate from an aussie pharmacy school this semester or next year? According to the latest SOL changes, pharmacist has been removed AGAIN which means the international students are no longer eligible to obtain a graduate visa to complete the registration to be a qualified pharmacist.

Hey guys just a quick question here regarding pharmacist registration in Malaysia. Do registered pharmacists from Australia/NZ need pre reg training in Malaysia to get the license? Or they just have to pass the registration exam without undergoing intern training again? Many thanks!

QUOTE(zstan @ Jun 6 2015, 09:17 PM) just read the laws and required topics that's all lol... and it's open book + all MCQ ... quite hard to fail la.. i've also a friend from Australia who came back.. just study few days before the exams.. know where the laws roughly are so you know where to flip the pages to... don't need to die die memorise... and where can we purchase the pharmacy law books? 100 questions on pharmacy forensic is quite torturing though..in australia our written exam only consists 8 forensic questions and the rest (142 questions) are calculations and clinical. |

QUOTE(iLegend @ Jun 9 2015, 08:38 PM) Aside from passing the forensic exam, you'll need to obtain Certificate of Exemption from the pharmacy board by writing a letter to the secretary. application for provisional exemption yea? I was reading the application guide and it mentioned that applicant has to attend an interview conducted by the Public Service Commission. In my circumstance I have no intention to work in public hospital though. Does this requirement still apply to me?Maybe Pharmacy Board should include calculations and clinical questions too |

QUOTE(iLegend @ Jun 11 2015, 10:48 PM) I'm fairly certain you still need to get the certificate of exemption as long as you want to work as a pharmacist. so attending the aforementioned interview is part of the application for certificate of exemption? To my understanding, it is so that the Pharmacy Board recognises the experience you gained by working overseas and have the required skills to be a pharmacist in Malaysia. Here's the link http://www.pharmacy.gov.my/v2/en/documents...-exemption.html tbh i find the whole procedure confusing and the pharmacy board website is not very informative |
