I want to relate a very bad incident that happened.

Recently went to Jooi Seng tire shop located off Jalan Batu Belah / Shapadu Highway Klang. Made a purchase consisting of rims and tyres. My car was already installed with custom made spacers (PCD 114.3).

After choosing the rims, the sales supervisor says no problem becoz my spacers PCD is common. Unknown to me the rims I chose / the ones he gave me was of the wrong spec with PCD 112. Guess what happened?
The IDIOT forced the wheels on my spacers and cause the screws to bent.. all five x 4! Because the PCD were wrong, custom centre rings need to be installed and modification on the rims were required (the modification looked like a rodent ate the inner centre of the rim - choppy finish).

BUT unfortunately I was not aware that all these was going on. UNTIL I went for servicing and there I found out what the BAD trader did!

One spoilt spacer, 20 spoilt spacer screws, 4 spoilt rims and violation of safety code, ethics etcetera.......

The cost for new spacers and rims RM4700 !

So listen up guys: BEWARE OF THIS SHOP for all you know, one of you may have misfit rims unknown to you!

Sorry la bro, no pics... although i know can replace the screws on the spacer, but screws also cost like 'kena screw' quoted RM30 per screw or RM600 for 20. Decided to replace spacers coz the new ones are better made & fitting w/o centre hub adjustments. Just beware of this shop if you decide to change rims for whatever reasons.

Yup, I also tot not possible until it happened to me. Lucky for me I detected it early.

Look guys. I'm here just telling my bad experience. There could be other traders doing the same thing but undetected. Or in most cases ppl just don't care their screws are bent. The screws are not cheap to replace, as long can use, ppl just use them. Imagine the screws being bent & can be unbent - but guess what will happen to the strength of the screws? And in some cases, realising the 'traders' they are dealing with, prefer to cut their losses than fight.

So my frank advice is: don't be an idiot like me. Be aware of your vehicle wheel specs, If seller is taking the rims somewhere else, he is modifying them to make them fit (don't allow this, ask for different rims). If you are purchasing spacers, buy proper fitting, specs and quality. Don't simply accept seller's assurance on fitting.

In the past, I assumed that tyre sellers (apart from pricing which can vary widely) were AT LEAST be mindful of SAFETY. Apparently nowadays there are some who don't care or just not educated enough. Wrong pcd sounds exaggerating what about poor quality rims? Light and cheap for a heavy car? Lightness and strength don't come cheap. If you are driving a Malaysian made car or a light weight vehicle, probably u can ride on any rims with todays technology. But if your car is a heavy continental, perhaps u need to consider safety and the origins of your rims.

To all of you who have no problems with this seller, I wish you well. But those who don't know this seller just beware of the unscrupulous behaviour I encountered.

Somebody said Im just unlucky. I don't think this has anything to do with luck. This happened because the trader was NOT SINCERE !

a lot of people has requested pictures to provide authenticity to your claim.

not to say that we distrust you, however if you put yourself on the other side of the fence, someone suddenly kept bad mouthing you without any solid evidence, what would you think?

I never say "don't go to this shop". Just be wary. At the least my objective is achieved, the shop is now more concern of their "action & reputation" even if you guys doubt me. Yes neubie does not equate liar nor does absence of pictures equates to bs.

NB: Actually I was advised to post here so that ppl know (as it was orginally meant just to warn and be wary of such practices) since I was not taking any other action against the shop. I also don't want to confirm the seller's suspicion of who I am bcoz I have frens who still buys tyres from them.

Poor fella.
Here cannot complain seller/shop one.
I can get what u mean as I did this before.
Maybe some bros here TOO objective and see your warning as slander.
I think u just ignore them lah.
As long as people wanna get your warning already get it.
People are fine with the shop then just let them be.
Its just a reminder or warning. People got choice to decide whether they wanna blif or not. Relax and take it easy.
Anyway, thanks for the info, bro~
And sorry for your unhappy experience.

You guys who became so defensive by saying 'no pics = bs' are similar to those who demand video recording in order to convict for rape claim. Chill guys, he's just sharing information, no need to be hostile.

hence my earlier post:

if i say that you're a rapist right now, dont you think that it is unfair for you that you're just accused of such without any evidence or whatsoever?

granted, yes, i believe the other posters are being overly hostile on the whole subject/matter

visited joi seng once. Nothing really to complain except camber nut need to change. same like majority of "confirm camber nut need to change" tyre shop out there. Wherever you send your car, be aware of what's going on. Some have respect for your car. These shop I gave respect back. If they say the camber nut needed to change because it really needed to be change. Not because just wanna suck your money dry when they can do the camber just alright without changing it.
