Folks how do I know apps in google play are compatible for BOTH phone and tablet?
Currently using phone, was wondering do I have to buy the same app again for tablet version?

Cheers for the help.

by purchasing apps that require/encourage in app purchasing, you're encouraging that business model.

so more and more developers/publishers will see this as a good thing and pull the same stunt. later on, all you'll be buying-regardless of the price- is a client shell with little to no content.

that's a future i do not want happening.

How to buy apps which my current phone is not compatible?
*
Found this on reddit, hope this helps you. After you buy the apps/games will be attached to you gmail, but bear in mind that some of the games/apps may not be compatible with the device you buy in the future.

Here's how I just did it:

Download Bluestacks. Install it. http://bluestacks.com[1]

Go to settings and add your Google account.

Download and unrar this (in Windows Explorer, not in the Bluestack Android): http://www.mediafire.com/?7uafrvad0n4l7vh[2]

Open each .apk file. Don't worry if the Play Store apk gives you an error

Expand System Notifications in the lower right corner in Windows, find the Bluestack Icon and press Restart

In Bluestacks: Open the new launcher (press the middle button to get a choice) and then open Play Store.

Open Play Store and buy/download something

You now have a new device (T-Mobile Samsung GT-N7000) available in the Play Store, which is compatible with almost everything

Install the things you buy in Bluestacks or they'll get deleted/refunded after around 24 hours.

I'll repeat myself, seems everyone kept asking.

Ski Safari is a must buy. It's a great buy at original $0.99 USD price, its an absolute steal for $0.25.
