Are you aiming for double? Cuz 12g is still around single shot area.. unless you're going for Italian doppio which is 14g. If you want more body, let the blonding go a bit longer.. that will add some bitterness to it. |

Some machines will recognize 12g as double.. but for most, 12g is too little for a double.Blonding is the end part of the extraction.. whereby the thick and syrup like crema has turned yellowish or towards translucent. This will carry bitterness.. beginning of the shot will have more acidity, then middle is more on sweetness.. |

I see, willll PPF affect the taste? cause I feel that the shot come out very fast even if I tamp Blonding is the end part of the extraction.. whereby the thick and syrup like crema has turned yellowish or towards translucent. For some blends, with only arabica beans.. I will use 20g because it's sweet.. so I prefer to have more body by up-dosing..As for pressurized PF, the only thing it works good is the pressured crema So far, I tamp around 20kg of force.. but I've tried light tamping and still get the right extraction.. Now I normally just level the coffee by tamping and polish.. |

QUOTE(Keng @ Dec 11 2014, 03:37 PM) Yes, exactly this type Hi Keng,![]() The thing is by the time the bubble reaches the breather hole (its located at the joining instead of at the middle of the plastic cylinder like the 1 you shared), the volume would've increased too much to my liking I'll have to knock dozens of time for the big bubble to burst I have the Poemia too, replaced the Panarello with this Saeco Wand its also a pannarello wand but when you take out the outer part it will be a normal steam wand sort of extension of the 'short' steam wand when you remove the default pannarello. Pannarello wand is hard to maintain especially keeping the tiny hole unclogged. Install this on your Poemia and start steaming your milk just before the steaming light comes out (usually around after 25-30 seconds after you flick the switch to "steam" ), that way you will have constant and powerful steam as the boiler heats up the water to produce steam. This is because once the steam light is ON the steam generated by the boiler is sometimes not powerful or sufficient to steam and create a strong whirlpool, that is why others on the internet recommend steaming your milk right before the steam light turns on. This way the boiler won't stop heating the water inside thus producing steam on a constant rate. You can try steaming your milk by removing the default panarello wand and use the short tip of the steam wand but you have to have more milk in your pitcher because the steam wand is short. I recommend the steam wand above to extend the short steam wand. Ciao. This post has been edited by skitZo`: Dec 13 2014, 02:48 AM |

I think you will have to wait till your non pressurized filter basket arrives then try again. Maybe your grind is too fine.. For now, it seems to be choking the machine.

Hmmm Hi, for my machine the espresso flows out at around 8-10 seconds. 15-16g per dose , output 45-55ml of espresso at 27-29 seconds. So I guess you could wait for awhile more to see whether the espresso flows out and time the whole extraction then adjust your grind or dose. |

What machine are you using? Cheers! |
