Hey Coffee Sifus,
I finally got my Hario Ceramic Grinder and cant wait to get some coffee beans to brew using a French Press method. I am looking for a relatively darker roast, slightly more bitter with interesting flavors. I am not really looking for that acidic slightly more sour coffee. Can someone please recommend where and what beans I should get? Any recommendation on how to brew it are also greatly appreciated. I know I mentioned that I wanted a darker roast but I am willing to keep an open mind to any suggestions that you may think are interesting. Thanks in advance guys! Edit: Also I went to Ben's at Publika yesterday to get some beans. Although its helpful they labeled flavors and roasting dates of their beans, very little info about the roasting was mentioned. Hi guys, good to know this place. I'm currently using my old sunbeam espresso machine I got from Melbourne. It has been 10 yrs and start to leak. I'm also looking for a decent burr grinder and I found this breville bes870. Which has both grinder and machine.
I've searched over myer and good guys (Aussie parkson n send) and they r selling at abt 650. Now, I know it's hard to ask somebody to bring it back. So, can we actually get it in Malaysia? I'm in Kuching. Do u thing they will do courier to Sarawak? Thanks. |

For me, Farm fresh seems to do a great job and it's smooth without the bubbles. It holds well. QUOTE(myparano @ Jul 2 2014, 02:42 PM) Hye, Im new to the forum. that's the main reason i dont like capsule machine, the froth is just tooo thick!!Just sharing some of my coffee making items. My Bodum french press. My CBTL coffee maker and milk frother Latte that I made using my CBTL coffee machine I'm not sure whether the milk frother is the same as my friend's nespresso machine (delonghi) The delonghi frother has a magnetic spring at the bottom to spin the milk and at the same time the wall heat up the milk. When it heat up to a certain temperature, it stop. The problem with the froth is it spin too rigorously and too long so u get this super thick foam. So if u can lift up the magnetic spring at the bottom (or somehow stop the spinning) when the milk start to heat up, u froth less. But u need to make sure u put it back half way the milk is heating up so u dont just get a hot milk. that is how i do it with delonghi nespresso machine. hope it help |

I've seen some specialty cafe using it. So i guess it is ok. Im still searching for the reasonable FRESH milk still. The fresh milk in our country is not that fresh at all and the flavour is not quite right compared to what i had in melbourne. what u guys think? any one tried using sabah desa milk? |

At first it comes out smooth, than seconds later, it bubbles out and the drink end up become diluted like Nescafe. Now i will try marigold.... If the same thn will go for farm fresh. I did the latte art,at first all good but big bubbles start coming up which make it look so aweful. All the best. Keep us updated on how it goes with the marigold. |

QUOTE(windwong @ Jul 5 2014, 08:20 PM) that's the main reason i dont like capsule machine, the froth is just tooo thick!! It is not because of the capsule based coffee machine but it's due to the milk frother itself. If you have a steamer wand, than you eliminate the froth being "too thick" problem. Basically a frother only froths the milk but if you want smooth as silk milk foam, than get an expensive coffee maker which has a good steam wand to steam and froth the milk. Or get a seperate stand alone milk steamer. Not sure if they have a standalone version of milk steamer. The stand alone frother all it does is heats the milk and spins the spindle. I'm not sure whether the milk frother is the same as my friend's nespresso machine (delonghi) The delonghi frother has a magnetic spring at the bottom to spin the milk and at the same time the wall heat up the milk.
