Opti Coat Pro is a clear resin based coating that offers lifetime protection once it is properly applied and cured.
And yes!! You read it right. Optimum Coating is a permanent coating that protects automotive paint over its lifetime! Unlike a wax or sealant, Optimum Coating will not wash or wear off. It acts as a second layer of clear coat which provides increased protection against the elements.
Optimum Coating is a clear resin coating, much like the clear coat that already exists on your vehicle. And just like your factory clear coat, Optimum Coating is meant to be permanent! Optimum Coating can be applied to all exterior surfaces.
Optimum Coating is an additional barrier between the elements and your vehicle's paint. The paint will retain its color and contaminants will be blocked out to keep the paint smooth and clean. Unlike waxes and paint sealants that require frequent reapplication, Optimum Coating provides constant, unyielding protection for the life of your vehicle's finish!
Because Optimum Coating is permanent, the paint finish has to be properly prepared before applying it. Any blemishes or contamination on the paint will be permanently locked in so remove them first! On a properly prepared paint finish, Optimum Coating will look clear, smooth, and clean.
Note: Optimum Coating is not to be confused with other waxes, sealants or nano-coatings, this is different. Optimum Coating uses a resin technology that forms a permanent bond to paint and cures, just like an extra layer of clear coat.
Once Optimum Opti Coating cures, washing is the only maintenance needed to keep your vehicle looking fantastic. The coating can be clayed but it should not be necessary since Opti Coating releases contaminants easily. Use detail sprays as desired to intensify the gloss. You can use Optimum Instant Detailer (OID) to add some slickness.
Say goodbye to waxing! Optimum Coating provides permanent paint protection to keep your vehicle looking its best indefinitely!
Explanation from Dr.G of Optimum Polymer Technologies

The Optimum clear coating is all about protection. But what sets it apart from numerous other paint protection products on the market making similar claims?
The first significant difference is the chemistry. Dr David Ghodoussi, an Organic Chemist and founder of Optimum Polymer Technologies explains it best.
"Opti-Coat is a pre-polymer that cross links and forms a continuous film on the surfaces it is applied to, similar to a single component isocyanate that forms a clear coat finish. Opti-Coat also reacts with the substrate that it is applied to so it will not delaminate"
"As far as the durability, it is similar to urethane clear coats. It will not wash away or break down, however, you can polish it over time ! The hardness starts at 6-7 but will increase over time to 9H as it is exposed to heat. Opti-Coat has better chemical resistance, scratch & mar resistance, and release properties than any automotive coating in use."
Translated so we can all understand that - Opti-Coat is not a wax or polymer paint sealant that will degrade over short periods of time. Or a paint protection product that requires a special "soft wash" or pH neutral shampoo to remain on the surface for any extended period of time. It is a permanent, clear coat finish very similar to your factory clear coat, only harder, and with higher resistance to chemical etching.
The second significant difference is the thickness of the coating. A single layer of Opti-Coat measures approximately 2 microns in thickness. Or 100 times thicker than your typical wax or paint sealant measuring in at 0.02 microns.
What this means to your vehicle is that any damage inflicted on the surface is absorbed by the Optimum Coating. This is particularly significant in relation to scratches and swirls in the paint work that inevitably build up over time. Not only will the Opti-Coat resist damage far better than factory finishes, but the coating itself can eventually be removed and reapplied. Protecting and preserving your factory coating, and restoring the vehicle to "better than new" condition.
Opti-Coat is a hard wearing, ceramic clear coat for superior resistance to scratching (9H) and chemical etching from environmental impacts.
The Opti-Coat pre-polymer cross links, and forms a continuous film on the surfaces it is applied to, similar to a single component isocyanate that forms a clear coat finish.
Opti-Coat has better chemical resistance, scratch & mar resistance, and release properties than any automotive coating in use. It provides permanent protection for all modern factory paints, and can also be applied to exterior glass, metal and hard plastic surfaces.
Like to compare with real product? Try to withstand Optimum Power Clean before you believe any claim out there, this shows their coating's bondings are weak.
Hardness? Mostly they are 5H or even worst to 2H for PTFE.
Why Opti-Coat? Why is it so different?

1) Opti-Coat is not a paint protection wax or sealant that will wash away, or break down over time. Opti-Coat bonds permanently with the factory coating, protecting the surface indefinitely and will not delaminate.
2) A single layer of Optimum Clear Coating measures approximately 2 microns in thickness. When compared to other paint protection products, Opti-Coat is more than 100 times thicker, with tests showing a wax coating measuring less than 0.02 microns.
3) This allows Opti-Coat to effectively absorb damage that would otherwise affect the factory paint layers. Swirl marks and light scratches are not only decreased by the harder Optimum Coating, the factory paint is protected and preserved.
4) Opti-Coat is completely resistant to acidic environmental substances such as bird droppings. Unlike your factory clear coating that can be permanently damaged, Opti-Coat will not etch or dissolve when in contact with these substances, and a clean, glossy clear coating is maintained.
Trivia and FAQ
1) Since you said its all good, can it prevent scratches?
A) Maybe you heard it somewhere or from someone claiming their coating can prevent scratches, why don't you scratch it on the spot and try? None of the coating can resist a real hard hit (Eg: Stone Chips), but yes hardness does vary and therefore you need a greater pressure to inflict damage upon a coating with high hardness rating. Want to be scratchless and unharmed by those mentioned? Go for clear bra (aka 3M Scotch Gard).
2) Do I still need to wash my car?
A) The idea of a good, resilient, hydrophobic, and PERMANENT coating is to protect your vehicle original paint and original clear coat from being contaminated. Since the coating is much more resistant to dirts and contaminants, this means they cannot stick on the coating very well and therefore will grant you an easier washing experience, saving your energy and time. (A 20 minutes wash with ONR).
3) The Million Dollar Question, does it prevent watermarks?
A) Firstly, understand how watermarks forms/etch onto paint. When you leave water residue on the paint, and when it subjects to heat (aka sunlight), the water evaporates and thus leaves behind the mineral residues. The mineral residues can be corrosive (from acid rain, or impurities from tap water) and with the high average temperature in Malaysia, watermarks etching can happen real fast. To sum it up, there is no coating or sealants or waxes that can prevent watermarks yet, if there is one it is safe to say that product is the Holy Grail for detailing enthusiasts. The only way to prevent it, is not to leave any water residue on your car (in which can be difficult due to working/time/environment constraint).
Good enough to tell the story? Even after 2 years?
