Okay some noob android questions coming...

1.
cannot send normal sms/message, this error come out, any1 know how to solve?

FIXED : forgot to set phone number to the newly acquired microsim *facepalm*

2. i dont know bout u guys, something telling me this Cell Standby did not eat this much resources...did i do something wrong here?

Originally i wanted to get S5,but bought R3 instead.reason #1; the VEGA logo is much cooler than SKY. The size not much different. It depends on how big ur hand is... But few S5 features (that i wanted)not here in R3,sad..

Oh.. i thought that [secret view] is exclusive of S5,but after reading threads of other SKY phones here,even the VR2 has it..hoping the next update will bring it to R3

so much many pros on this phone, but i have to point out a few cons here...

1. gesture lock screen - cant change the prefix gesture, wanted to change the S-sign(for smart voice,cannot use here in malaysia) to Camera, would be awesome.

2. camera setting - the 13MP resolution did not have wide-reso like the 6MP reso, so when taking picture;all screen will filled with the image, no black border on top/bottom. i will always use the "w6M(3200x1920)" instead of "13M(1920x3104)".

3. mobile network setting - cannot change preferred band(did not find any option to do this). so the phone will automatically select the best network. it shows " [W] Celcom " rather than " [G] Celcom " in the notification area.this end up eating too much battery (as my picture before this). W=WCDMA and G=GSM, if im not mistaken?

4. SMS 80-byte limit - (if root,can remove the limit,they say...) larger than that converted to MMS, which i still cannot make it work

thats all i could found until my 4th day of usage...

p/s: this is my 1st time using android(last time using Torch9800). not root, no fancy apps to manage things-or-whatnot, just purely using what is there and update all SW given..hoping the next update,or even JB, will bring more awesomeness to the stock ROM.

I use my previous Torch9800 to set the number

Use the app provided to upgrade S/W ; VEGA Station


For the contact, not sure can really see the number on the sim; bcos have to create own ME profile,even when no sim inserted. So i assume it(set number on sim) just for sms purpose.

EDIT : wait,can see it in Setting > System > About Phone > Status ..

alredy there...
so, have to;

1. pick "pc data mode" USB connection setting
2. enable "USB debugging" in developer options
3. click RootA850.bat
4. enter "y" > enter

this is what i got...

this begs the question : dafuq is this sheet? nobody said anything bout data restore...

Thats weird, mine oso always popup cant update timezone from network, but can use both *118# and *119#. Wrong setting perhaps

EDIT : does APN setting affect anything above?

u guys cannot upgrade via OTA or website?
the software version number difference is...over 9000

or the A850K, A850L, A850S each having different software update version?

just realized where u saw the 157 and 137 number(the last 3-digits, i was looking at the first 3 ), so the OTA not so updated as the website....

later will try to use the website to upgrade(to see will have same MMI code problem or not) later, but i dont trust IE...

What battery app u use?
Mine can only lasted till 9pm(start usage from 6am;almost same usage as urs + music 1hour) using 2x Battery..

hmm..that is weird... the IE said that my 137 is the latest S/W..how come u guys can get the 157?

that's why la...

nobody using 850S?

EDIT : fun fact #1 - Note 2's S Pen cannot be use on this phone (trust me, i've tried)
