Anyone using electroluminescent wire (el wire) here? Im interested in making pc modding using it, but im wondering if it is good n terms of temp if to be installed inside case or not.

EL wires dont run hot. Just a little warm when touch.

IMO EL wires is a pain in the A$$. Just get those LED strips. Even CCFL is a pain in the same A$$..

EL wires and CCFL have a seamless consistent glow. LEDs are very inelegant with a ton of concentrated light source

True to that, just the inverter won't be easily managed. I've burned my LED controller because of that inverter.

Sorry TS, again to answer your question. No, EL wires operating temp is not hot.

So for modding, el wire is very difficult to handle rite.. what if i adjust my led controller to receive wattage from psu, then transfers to inverter? Diagram should be like diz:

Psu>led controller>inverter>el wire

Is diz good to minimize any loss?

I don't think its a good idea to connect the inverter to the LED controller. Need to remind you, I've burned my LED controller from experimenting.

But, its your choice to do anything you like. Just want to share my experience.
