The best solution ATM.
As we know,
Unstable OS : Wins 95 = Wins ME = Wins Vista
Stable : Wins 98 = Wins XP = Wins 7
Guess you haven't worked with XP SP1a (or XP prior to SP2)... They are notoriously known to be extremely unreliable and buggy...
Vista was a revolution at that time, but the issue is PC manufacturers refused to ship machines with enough computing power to run Vista, as well as the prevalence of bloatware (which allows PC manufacturers to sell them cheaply) pretty much give Vista a negative impression.
Poorly written device drivers contributes to this problem as well.
therevulsion Consider updating to Vista SP2 if possible. Vista SP2 is a major upgrade over previous Vista service packs.
Use lightweight software whenever possible, and check your HDD/RAM for any problems. Upgrading your HDD to a SSD makes a world of difference...
Do not use so called PC Optimizer to speed up your machine as they do not bring visible increment in real world performance.
