Hey there,I know this card is really a LOW..LOOOWWWW end card but bear with me. This is my first time trying something like this smile.gif

So well,I've got this new GPU for my system which previously ran on the intel chipset. On the "Catalyst Control Center" in came with, theres an option to Overclock my card.
Can I overclock it? Should I overclock it? If so,is there any "safe overclocking zone" I should keep at?

Here's the image of my overclocking tab at its default settings. It stays at a constant 41 degrees at these settings. I remember experimenting bumping up the GPU clock settings and memory clock settings by a little before this and the temperature rised to about 52 degrees. I didn't change the fan speed as I wasn't sure if I would harm my system by doing so or anything. Like I said,my knowledge regarding this is very shallow.

Thanks!

here is a simple guide from guru3d (the reviewed card is not hd6570): unsure.gif

Where should we go?
Overclocking: By increasing the frequency of the videocard's memory and GPU, we can make the videocard increase its calculation clock cycles per second. It sounds hard, but it really can be done in less than a few minutes. I always tend to recommend to novice users and beginners, to not increase the frequency any higher than 5% on the core and memory clock. Example: If your card runs at 600 MHz (which is pretty common these days) then I suggest that you don't increase the frequency any higher than 30 to 50 MHz.

More advanced users push the frequency often way higher. Usually when your 3D graphics start to show artifacts such as white dots ("snow"), you should back down 10-15 MHz and leave it at that. Usually when you are overclocking too hard, it'll start to show artifacts, empty polygons or it may even freeze. Carefully find that limit and then back down at least 20 MHz from the moment you notice an artifact. Look carefully and observe well. I really wouldn't know why you need to overclock today's tested card anyway, but we'll still show it.

All in all... do it at your own risk.

1. YES you can BUT it is now whether or not the card can take the push of mhz, usually they can but more often than not, it's too little to make any difference. Even higher end cards nowadays, some mhz increase doesn't give much performance boost.

2. Should you? NO, unless you just want to experience it. Low end card, boost 1 frame is still low end card performance.

3. Just do 10mhz increase until the system misbehaves, then stay at the last successful speed. *my style is straight 50mhz - 100mhz boost or more but for newbies, I think going that figure is damn scary. hehe*

Hmm, wta one Q here. how to prevent flickering on dual monitor when OC the gpu?

from my web search, it is because of the idle frequency used for dual monitor setup. Higher than single monitor.

tumpang thread

eg. single monitor gpu idle is 157/300. 2 monitor idle is 500/400 (iinm).
but once i oc, it cause flickering on dual monitor setup. only way to prevent flickering is not to OC. sad.gif

tried to manually to configure the dual monitor idle back to 157/300, but i phailed. (iinm is creating a profile of 157/300 at the AMD CC.)

any advice? smile.gif

It is a known problem reported by users in guru3d forum. Try using different version of AMD CCC.
