The graphics and also some games are designed in such a way that you wont be able to read the texts at all if your TV isnt HD. I cant remember where I encountered this problem, but it was in one of my old games back in 2006. Back then I didnt have a Hdtv.
Basically they made some texts in the menus, load screen or whatever so small that when you're missing the extra hd pixels those texts are reduced to nothing but meaningless boxes. |

Or get a cheapo monitor, it works too.
Just that you need extra configuration for the sounds. |

Would suggest to NOT get cheap or 'local brand'. From my experience, there's always something lacking. Whether it's awkward graphics (eventhough it has full HD) or annoying sound. Well, unless if you're doing some farming or leveling up, then it's ok.
LED TVs produce less heat and requires less power compared to traditional LCD. 42" LCD = 180W 42" LED = 100W Plus, the graphics are alot better. |

You can just buy Dell LED monitors for less than RM500.
1080p with HDMI. The disadvantage that the sound needs to be connected else where. If you have existing PC setup, it's easier to get all connected. |

QUOTE(shakku @ Oct 3 2012, 11:40 AM) You can just buy Dell LED monitors for less than RM500. True. If you already have a PC with HDMI/DVI monitor and external speakers, you can get away with it. On PS3, you can have the graphics output to the HDMI port and the sound output to the RCA cables. All you need to do next is have an RCA-3.5mm convertor which cost less than RM5. Plus, you can also whack in a small portable headphone amp if you wanna use headphones.1080p with HDMI. The disadvantage that the sound needs to be connected else where. If you have existing PC setup, it's easier to get all connected. |

QUOTE(sjneow @ Oct 3 2012, 01:52 PM) which will cost you a kidney, the current gen consoles are entering "late adopters" phase of their life that the customer are more budget conscious. its running on XCGPU theoretically equalavent to radeon 5650. From calculations from PC cards is 960 GFLOPS, 3 time more resources (ps3 RSX-228.8gflops, x360 xenos- GPU0=240gflops+ GPU1=167gflops) and the Wii U is not exactly next gen, there are reports that it's graphic card is weaker than the current Xbox 360. The problem comes not from the hardware, but the game exclusives and the spending power of the consumers to adopt wii-u. Considering the condition of the economy and the stake of bubbling in Videogaming industry. This post has been edited by y3ivan: Oct 3 2012, 04:35 PM |
