Double top with bearish divergence in RSI....

Weekly chart more obvious, created new high but RSI formed lower high. The third lower high should be an exit signal...

can i know what is the meaning of divergence?

is that means that will be changing trend soon?
*
divergence can be categorised to 2 parts:

a) Regular divergence (normally to detect trend reversal)

b) Hidden divergence (use to detect trend continuation)

can learn from here, I think this website teach divergence trading very nicely

http://www.babypips.com/school/high-school...ng-divergences/

It's my most powerful method for trading FCPO. Not sure about share though, because haven't tried enough divergence trading on shares.

I'm impressed with your chart analysis. Do you use any scanner to find the patterns or just plain
naked eye analysis? If just by looking at the chart and then you can instantly view the patterns,
I must say you're much more efficient that those scanners being programmed to find patterns. Salute  sweat.gif
*
my bursastation cannot detect chart patterns, maybe can only detect candlesticks pattern. not too sure, because I have not fully explore all the features available in bursastation. normally I use my naked eyes to find the patterns.

I think those scanners programme are much faster and efficient. I can only detect those under my regular watchlist (Index counters + 2-3 fundamentally good counters from each sectors). For funny2 counters, I may not able to detect it at all. Hence the reason I go to forums / FB groups, to see what others come up with. tongue.gif

Some comments.

Contrary to popular beliefs, I strongly believe fake trading is a waste of time.
Especially for futures trading, you either have IT or you don't.
IT means the ability to stay focus and calm and make your trades without any emotions attached.
Many can be a good fake trader but when it comes to real futures trading, they crumble.
Emotion kicks in. False hope sets in. Trades cannot be executed when needed.

Suggestion? Take a chunk of money out.
No pain no gain.
No money no honey, babe.
Take 5k out.
Play the futures.
If you can see profits or remain in the game after 6 months, you are good to go.

My one sen of wind talk and this one sen comes from someone who has confessed he does not trade futures.
*
I have to agree on this one.

Don't take so much time on fake trading, maybe 2-3 months to get yourself familiar with the volatility of the markets (FCPO can be very volatile, not so much on FKLI i guess)

I heard from a talk somewhere, someone conducted a study on the probability to lose all your capitals. in the statistic, for you to lose 16 trades in a row is 0% (not too sure though what actually the title of the study, maybe you can google around)

Meaning you can lose 15 times, and the 16th time you'll hit it

Not sure if it's true or not, maybe just a motivational talk to motivate traders. haha

But let say it's true.

I want to trade FCPO, and current margin now is RM7000 per lot

I'll risk 3% of my capital for each trade, and I want to start with RM10,000

Each trade I'll risk RM300. If I lose 16 times in a row, my loss will be RM4800.

If I want to still be in a game after 16x lost in a row, I need to start with RM7000 (initial margin FCPO) + RM4800 = RM11800 (make it RM12000)

Even if you lose 16x in a row, you will still be in the game, but the study said probability to lose 16x in a row is 0. So at 16th, you sure make money one. haha.

But, any good traders won't let themselves to lose 15x in a row la....I stopped trading once I lose 3 times in a row, and take a break.

If you can do this, maybe you can stay in the game for more than 6 months..... icon_rolleyes.gif

on a separated matter, do you guy think its wise to borrow money to invest?

i always get calls from credit card center asking me if i wanna borrow money with really low interest rate. some 2.7% per annum. real tempting but the first lesson i learn in investing was, never borrow money to invest. so, i always reject those offer smile.gif
*
I don't think you should. but if market crash down like what happen in 2008, then maybe you want to give it a try, like I did tongue.gif

But my honest opinion, if you don't have 1 year on savings that allow you to continue living your life normally when you out of job, then you better don't touch borrow money to invest

Based on a collection of everything you have written.

For share markets, sometimes, you can get away with a lousy stock pick by holding the bad selection a long time.
Futures trading are unforgiving and once you are wrong, you lose and your losses depends on how swift you cut.
*
luckily, you can place stop order in futures trading. smile.gif

But not good also if your stop order got hit every single time you in trade.....

After sharp moves from RM2.70 to RM3.65, the counter has been on downtrend for 4 months, sliding down to RM3.10.

Then the counter started to climb back up again, as high as RM3.51 with expanding volume, pushing through the down trend line. After that, the price coming back down again, but with decrease vol, forming a flag pattern. You can read it here the characteristics of flag:

http://stockcharts.com/help/doku.php?id=ch...pennant_continu

Normally, after breaking through resistance level, the stock will retrace back to the last resistance level, to see if the resistance can now become a support. In this case, the support level is the 200 MA and the down trend line. If supported, chances are the breakout is genuine, and they stock may go higher. Flags normally associate with continuation pattern, thus the present of flag in this counter suggest that trend may continue.

CL: RM3.35
Target: RM3.75
Entry: RM3.45

Risk: RM0.10
Reward: RM0.30

RRR = 1:3

Here's the weekly chart

user posted image

There's a bullish hidden divergence from the weekly chart.

Hidden Divergence

The price rebound nicely at trendline, and at the resistance-turn-support level.

Today could be the signal to enter? Would the trend resume its upward movement?
