Hey guys, i am considering to get this device from umobile (sign a 2 year contract with them)..
The main problem with window phone 8 is the lack of apps and the quality of the apps available..
my main concern is on a few basic apps that I cannot live without ..
How is the user interface on facebook, whatsapp and internet explorer?

Also, how well can this phone hold against drop? Sometimes i drop my phone.. and i'm very afraid of super fragile phone as in you accidentally drop it once, the screen will just crack

oh..forgot to mention... I'm a long time android user ..switching from galaxy nexus

Any phone is prone to breakage if dropped. It depends on the point of impact.

Suggest you have a casing for your phone since you confessed you are careless but that in itself is not fool-proof.

On the features/functions of WP8, suggest strongly you spend some time reading the posts here to gather some intelligence before jumping in.

yup ..i read all the posts in this thread but it's mostly about window phone 8 user interface and maps .. I've tested the demo sets.. win 8 very smooth
but i wanna know if the user interface for specific apps like facebook and whatsapp are good .. (i read some bad reviews on this.. so i want to verify)
the demo sets don't have sim card ..so i can't really try whatsapp

I am like you, considering a change to WP8. I have been reading the posts religiously as I want to make a right decision. I believe you have not read all the posts in the Windows Phones Thread as, if you have you would have gotten a lot of the information you wanted. I did.

you mean other win phone 8 threads?
thanks for the advice, i think i should too.. since i'm asking about the specific apps UI on win 8 rather than bout the phone itself
what's your decision so far??
