QUOTE(moderno @ Jan 21 2006, 02:41 PM) no Ultra-D / SLI-D/DR version?... Almost all the motherboard which has the DDR and mosfets located at around the same place can use this fan mount. The mounting holes are the same since all of the are ATX boards.impressize....very impressive... calling for @allngap....if u making this one with all ur acrylic toyz...sure boom!! QUOTE(mdzaboy @ Jan 21 2006, 02:44 PM) From his first guess, he said that the manufacturers will cut it on their laser cutter for USD2.25/min. So I guess it takes about 5 - 7 mins to cut one piece. About $11 - $15 + shipping? It will include all necessary screws for the installation. This post has been edited by kcnyc: Jan 22 2006, 02:53 AM |

that is not a problem at all. just afraid that the vibrations from the fans would resonate only
but the mounts are really expensive.... |

i'm thinking low profile 120mm.. but i'm trying to design something that will hold the full 120mm fans.. already have a rough design for the low profile ones..

QUOTE(sup3rfly @ Jan 22 2006, 01:49 AM) If you guys use a 60mm or 120mm fan, you will be eating the space of the heatsink. The designer of this thingy made this so that big heatsink, waterblocks and even phase change evaporators are able to be put on with the mount already mounted on the board. Think about that before jumping to bigger fans. |

i did this using dual delta 60mm on the rams for gsan, with clip on design on the ram slots
![]() the idea is not only limited to 40mm fans, blowers can be utilised as well. This post has been edited by AllnGap: Jan 22 2006, 04:13 PM |

Like the one used for hyper6+,and some GC hsf. That will lessen the vibration. Or even better sockets+spans like the CPU socket I'm interested if ur making 1 allngap This post has been edited by DaBaD: Jan 28 2006, 09:15 AM |

Someone in XS forums. He got the guys to work on them for USD4 per piece I think, not including the prototypes. So I would guess about 10 bucks each or so when it is done.

This is the updated diagram, prototype version 3. Frag changed the fan sizes to bigger fans - 2 x 50mm and 3 x 40mm:
![]() I do not know how much yet, but I will let you know soon. The fans can be purchased anywhere, so you can make your decision on it when it comes out. This post has been edited by kcnyc: Feb 1 2006, 03:17 AM |

This is an issue which I have raised but no has bothered to answer in the first place. So I'm doing this at my own discretion. And we also do have a cooling section over here at hardware and this solution in my view is more towards stabillity IMHO

All air cooling (For processor and mobo chipset) discussion and queries from now on should be done here. Currently open topics will be left to continue but as of 15th February 2006, any newly open topics regarding air cooling will be merged here. And for cooling GFX's, please use the specific topics covering the GFX that you're using existing in Hardware main to discuss and query.

And we also do have a cooling section over here at hardware and this solution in my view is more towards stabillity IMHO Eh but no overclock - means no stability issues. So why is it hardware? Its modding by the way. Not a single company is selling it wor. So how can it be mainstream hardware section? Just want you to clarify pls......Oh and btw the guy has started selling this fan mount. Here's a copy of the sales thread: SysXtreme DFI SLI-DR Expert & RDX200 RAM / MOSFET Cooling Bracket Welcome to the official XS sales page for my newest creation! I've currently got all of the parts and brackets ordered for the first batch which should arrive by next friday, so let's get sellin' em! Overview: This cooling bracket is designed to cool your raging hot RAM and MOSFET's on the SLI-DR Expert and RDX200 motherboards. We all know that the key to high overclocks and a more stable rig revolves around power, quality parts, and COOL OPERATION! The bracket is precision Co2 laser cut from high quality 3/16" clear acrylic and houses two 50mm fans for cooling your RAM and three 40mm fans to keep your MOSFETS cool. Please be advised that this bracket has currently only be verified to fit correctly with the use of watercooled CPU's and possibly phase change. Some heatsinks MAY fit with this bracket but I don't have a compatibility list put together yet. At this stage of production I'm willing to sell to people with various heatsinks for testing purposes and will buy my brackets back if you find they are not compatible with your system (minus all shipping charges). I have tested this bracket with the XP-90 and it does not fit, therefor the XP-90 and XP-120's can be ruled out of the compatibility chart thus far. ![]() ![]() Pricing: Basic Kit Included in this kit: -Acrylic bracket -Mounting hardware (your choice of 1.5" or 2" standoffs. The 1.5" standoffs will not fit when using non-standard height RAM [ie. Corsair XMS w/ LED's]. Please also note that the standoffs are 6-32 threaded and will fit 95% of stock mobo mounts, some however are M3 threaded, if you run in to this problem let me know and I'll point you in the right direction to get the proper standoffs.). Price: $25 + Shipping Loaded Kit Included in this kit: -Everything included in the basic kit plus... -2 x 50x15mm Sunon Fans -3 x 40x10mm Sunon Fans -Chrome Fan Guards (for all fans) -Comes fully assembled, just plug and play! Price: $100 + Shipping Shipping Domestic Shipping USPS Priority Mail: $5.00 UPS Ground: $10.00 UPS 3 Day Select: $15.00 UPS 2nd Day Air: $20.00 UPS Next Day Air Saver: $30.00 UPS Next Day Air: $35.00 International Shipping USPS Global Priority Mail: $20.00 USPS Air Parcel Post: $30.00 (This service is only used to countries that do not offer the use of our Global Priority Mail service.) *Note: International shipments are not trackable or insurable via USPS. Global Priority Mail usually takes 1-2 weeks to arrive & Air Parcel Post usually takes 2-3 weeks to arrive (sometimes faster). I will not be held liable for packages that do not arrive, sorry. An inquiry can be placed on the package with USPS after 30 days of non-delivery have gone by. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. Intend to bring in brand new Freezer 7 Pro and Freezer 64 Pro for P4 LGA775 and AMD X2 processors. Strictly for dual core processors. Brand new, no nonsense Swiss design hor, not Taiwan, not Japan, not China, not HK, not Korea which tend to be big, bulky, heavy or noisy with loud flashy/colours/display and snazzy design that just suck more power from the psu and more money for the massive chunk of virtual metal fridge.
I find Freezer coolers among the most compact of all O/c coolers, so should generally fit into most LGA775 or X2 mobos. Very quiet, will not distract audio from games or music with fans that make ghastly throat-clearing noise from Malaysian Idol rejects kekeke... Hope to bring in March, COD, strictly deal in Malacca, home of IT innovations. |

QUOTE(Aucteer @ Feb 20 2006, 12:21 PM) Intend to bring in brand new Freezer 7 Pro and Freezer 64 Pro for P4 LGA775 and AMD X2 processors. Strictly for dual core processors. Brand new, no nonsense Swiss design hor, not Taiwan, not Japan, not China, not HK, not Korea which tend to be big, bulky, heavy or noisy with loud flashy/colours/display and snazzy design that just suck more power from the psu and more money for the massive chunk of virtual metal fridge. malacca, IT innovations?I find Freezer coolers among the most compact of all O/c coolers, so should generally fit into most LGA775 or X2 mobos. Very quiet, will not distract audio from games or music with fans that make ghastly throat-clearing noise from Malaysian Idol rejects kekeke... Hope to bring in March, COD, strictly deal in Malacca, home of IT innovations. joke. Cooler strictly for dual-core processors??? The X2, Opetron look exactly the same as the AMD64. How's that strictly? |

QUOTE(kcnyc @ Jan 22 2006, 02:25 AM) Hey guys, someone from xtremesystems made thing cooling mount for the DDR and the mosfets. This plexiglass mount is capable of mounting 4 x 40mm fans! Hard to explain, so I will just show u a picture: This is actually really easy to make ourselves. BUT I was just thinking, y all the hassle? Y not just cut a 120mm blowhole on the window n just blow it over the whole mobo? That wud b a whole lot easier n also there'll b a lot more air flow from the 120mm fan right?BTW he is going to take orders soon. Those interested in cooling your RAM and mosfets on the Expert, let me know. |

OMG. That's just plain ridiculous. Very soon mobos r gonna need steel reinforcement plates behind. Mati lar the mobo if u bolt this monster on a vertical mobo. N if u look carefully at the 2x120 fans, they're not utilising them to the max. The fans overhang the fins by a lot. Also I reckon that if anybody were serious enuf bout needing so much cooling power they'd just jump straight to water cooling.

i'm using it right now and my vcore is 1.58
last time using AMD stock HSF my full load C is around 48-50 but after change to big typhoon, it only helps me to decrease the C by 5 or 6 C now my full load is around 42-44 C why? this big typhoon was made to decrease around how many C? |

i think 44C under full load is consider good already for that vcore + air cooling. The advantage of a good hsf is ur temp is consistent..
let say u apply more vcore, then u will see a bigger different between big thypoon n stock hsf |

Eh I just got a TT Big Typhoon also. The screws holding down the clamps are so hard to take out coz the big fins on top. You can't use a screwdriver and have direct contact with the screws! You have to turn it at angle and I am afraid that now the screws are worn down. Anybody have any tips on how to get to the screws? Here is a pic of what I am talking about:

The TT Silent Tower I used last time is using the same mounting n yeah it's a huge pain to install n remove. But here's a tip for u. The chrome H Plate is actually really soft n springy. U can bend it down by just using ure thumb. Press down with ure thumb near the mounting screw n u'll actually c it bending downwards. Dont worry bout it coz it's made of a springy material. While pressing down with ure thumb, just use ure other hand to turn the screw by hand. Works really well coz after u release the plate it springs back up n it's nice n tight. Actually tighter than I cud get it with the screwdriver. BTW, y on earth r u messin with a Typhoon when u haf a Prommy? Product review?

Works really well coz after u release the plate it springs back up n it's nice n tight. Actually tighter than I cud get it with the screwdriver. BTW, y on earth r u messin with a Typhoon when u haf a Prommy? Product review? Well you see this is what happened. My Editor was testing the FX60, and then I told him that my custom cooler was coming. So he wanted to ship the FX60 to me. So he went to his FX60 rig, and tried to take out the CPU from the A8N SLI Deluxe board and the Big Typhoon. He couldn't get it out and worn down the screws! So he sent me the FULL set - CPU, Big Typhoon and the motherboard. When I opened the package I was so shocked! Coz it is rather dangerous transporting the whole thing in a box with the Big Typhoon on top of the CPU. But anyway, I tried so many times to get at the screws. It wouldn't move as the heads were worn, couldn't get traction! I was gona give the hacksaw a go at the screw and saw it off, but was afraid the metal flakes will be scattered all over the board - might cause a short. So I slowly used a locking wrench and gripped the screw at the threads and kept at it. Slowly it loosened.......and I got it out! Man it was a PAIN! Bad design seriously, they should give you a 90 degree screwdriver or something to get at the screws. Will give your suggestion a try, I might need to put the Big Typhoon on the FX60 coz my FX60 hates the cold! Can't go over 240HTT under phase. But when it is on air......no problems. Thanks for the tip ian! ![]() I think these kind of screwdrivers is best for the Big Typhoon. This post has been edited by kcnyc: Mar 15 2006, 11:39 AM |

im using cm hyper 48..not an overclocker...the stock fan is running at lowest rpm...wat i notice is tat it dun giv any difference in temperature wif my stock P4 hsf...izit the fan?
the temp oways change during idle...depend on weather also cz my room is not air-conditioned...usually idle at 47/48c...some times go 43/44c at nite...if raining days it drop til 38/39c...is ths a normal temp? all ths is running at idle... anyway i can lower the temp? changing fan helps? or shd i use better thermal paste?
