hope someone can provide brief/one line simple explaination about the following;

1) What is Rooting? Why/When need Rooting?

2) What is custom rom? Why/When need custom rom?

3) What is Flashing?
Please enlighten me. I really need understand this before i continue reading the remaining 50pages+

Guys, do we get more than 2gb of storage from dropbox? I heard somewhere that Samsung's account automatically get more than 2gb correct?

The second batch of apps on offer at google play ($0.25) isnt very interesting today. To me anyway. Will wait for day 3.

I have a question on dropbox. I have just registered but before i go on to use it can i find out something.
The application says that anything i put in the dropbox folder on my desktop will be automatically uploaded to the dropbox server as well as all other linked computers, what about my s3? Does it mean that everything i put in there will be downloaded to my s3? That will kill internal / external memory card. Or is it applicable to only computers / laptop / netbooks?

remove JB Dom? you gotta reflash back the ROM over it and you're done. No need data wiping.

why you need to remove it anyway? its prettier than the stock looks. it always has been.

and I notice a bug in checkrom v5.5
wherever i try to on the screen using the home button,
it quits my current app,
having to open the app all over again is a pain in the ass

I just saw v1.2 only on mediafire link..

other than that,
led light when charging is red right?
Sometimes I get dim lights,
don't know is rom or kernel problem,
I using siyah,
that's why I put light flow,

I've try open mirror 1(deposit file)..

Hi guys, I want to get your advices. can you verify my steps if this is correct? I've rooted with CF-root. Do I need a SD card to perform this step? I haven't purchase my SD card yet.

1. Download deodex wanam 4.1 from http://wanamlite.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=7388 . I am assuming this is the official JB from poland correct?
2. First of all, copy the firmware zip file that you want to install into SD card.
3. Turn off Samsung Galaxy S3.
4. Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
5. Release all buttons when you see SGS3 Logo.
6. ClockworkMod Recovery will be loaded then.
7. Select wipe data/factory reset with Volume Up / Down buttons. (You can skip this step if upgrade from same firmware)
8. Select it with Power (or Home) button.
9. Then select Yes — delete all user data.
10. Select wipe cache partition. (You can skip this step if upgrade from same firmware)
11. Then select Yes — Wipe Cache.
12. Go to install zip from sdcard.
13. Then select choose zip from sdcard.
14. Select your zip file (GT-I9300 wanamLite.Deodexed.XXDLIB.NO WIPE.zip).
15. Select Yes – Install your zip file.
After installation finished, select +++++Go Back+++++.

thanks both  , just a few more doubt. Yeah I backup both by CWM & TB.

1. XeactorZ you mentioned "if you flashing from stock JB to that deodex JB is no need to wipe which at 7th step" in my case it is a stock ICS, that means I have to do the wiping step correct?

2. I don't have the SD card yet, getting it tomorrow. However I notice after rooting, I notice there is a CWM app, can I use the CWM app and select "flash and update.zip". Is this option possible or I have to wait till I get a SD Card?

3. Alternatively can PC Odin do the job to flash wanam rom? I notice the option to load is non zip file. It supports .tar file. 

A bit of diversion, does anyone know whether the apps we buy from gplay is transferable by selling / exchange / gift?

1:no need to wipe. because from stock.thats they key.if from custom, then need to wipe as it can cause conflict after u flash another custom.
2: dun use the app ..chain fire got mentioned something buggy bout that app.so just use it at recovery mode.better wait for sd card.and back up better. safer
3:yea can oso, if tar use pc odin, but so far, i havent try pc odin, i download in zip format then paste it in my ex sd card.

where can atm ? got security number? haha no rite. haha well u can use debit card. as long any card got visa sticker then its useable.

Sigh, thats a bit unfair to the consumers though. The 25cent apps, i am ok la, but what if you want to actually buy an expensive app, eg, navigation apps which cost anywhere from $30 to $70, being non transferable will divert people to other sources of ehem "installation". Anyhow, its their marketplace so their rule stands i suppose.

I tried, but won't work, it could be Samsung haven't upload the update file to their server.   

Anyway, after Force Stop the service, when reboot the phone, Google will ask for permission for their Location Service, just click [Agree], not big deal.
