QUOTE(alexlow @ Dec 17 2010, 04:00 PM) new tank setup KH is high, won't have PH swing issue. HI alex, test kit are expensive, just helping him to save $, lfs will ask you to buy everything. if NO3 is high meaning nitrobacter already there, is good sign. just do wc once a week. ammonia spike because not fully cycle, over feed or dead fish. how to fix? also wc, test also meaningless, just get more salt. if he plan to do reef, after few mths , need KH test kit. cal, mag, stron etc test kit are for hardcore. if have budget go buy bit of rowa phos and active carbon. cooling part, least need a termometer to monitor before can decide. im a newbie to marine.. what do you mean by wc? |

Nano tank is cheaper but harder to maintain as the water parameters are less forgiving compared to bigger setups.
Proper nano tanks may cost you at least RM800. btw, im going to go collect live corals this weekend. hehe |

Agree......
If u want budget then u need to spend more time on it. If u spend more in equipment, time spending on maintenance can be lesser .... Beware of "new hobby poison". Proper cycle your tank b4 getting LS, don,t rush .... If not, you end up spending for nothing |

Hi I'm new to marine aquarium and i would like to know how soon can i put live stock inside the aquarium?
Currently my 1.5 feet is cycling for 11 days with hang on filter,a nano protein skimmer and 2.5 kilos of live rocks and i put some bacteria water to fasten it cycles. I wonder is it true that to put anemones you have to wait like 6 months? Thanx Attached thumbnail(s) |
