Hi guys, wanna ask, I recently bought a Dymatize Super Mass Gainer. It needs to be mixed with 12oz water. My current shaker is only ~8oz. If I upgrade to another bigger shaker should I get the one with the springy metal ball inside? Or just a simple shaker plus ice will do? Any recommendations? Any specific things to look out for? Thank you in advance!

first of all you need to ask yourself, why do you need the metal ball?

Metal ball definitely.

It helps to break up the powder so it mixes more evenly. The two drawbacks are:

1) It cost more $$$$$$
2) The ball is a b***h to wash lol.

If you are ok with that, buy the metal ball shaker.

Metal ball is useless...Just get a bigger shaker.

I was hoping it works by breaking the lumps of protein down. But apparently most people say it's useless as it traps the protein and prevents breakdown instead. It's also difficult to wash. I'm still in a dilemma. I guess I'll get a shaker with the ball, try and if it doesn't suit me I'll just throw the ball away.

Depends on what powder you're using. Chunks of serious mass always stick like a mini ball within the shaker ball no matter how I shake it. For ordinary whey, it will dissolve perfectly even without the ball.

True! It takes forever to dissolve the powder. My Isoloid isn't that bad. Maybe 40secs of vigorous shaking and its done. Haha. Will go to GNC to take a look tomorrow.Anywhere else to get shakers?

i use 20oz shaker with metal ball everything breakup easily..i use isopure 3lbs..low cab -sugar

8oz? you shaker was like..so tiny..perhaps you could split it to 2 servings.
6oz > drink > another 6oz lol..just buy any shaker bro..nothing special..you're thinking too much..if you're afraid that metal ball hard to wash, just throw it away lol

you do know that you can use 8oz of water instead of 12oz water without any problems right? haha don't waste extra cash on the spring ball blender. Just buying a normal shaker would be fine

haha at gnc. a normal shaker costs RM20 while a blender which is practically a shaker with a metal ball, costs RM45

Whoa. Btw I just got myself a normal 25oz shaker from GNC @ RM22.2. Works well. Similar shaker but with that stupid metal ball is RM45. @#$%&*!!

I don't have the metal ball nor would I bother getting it because its a waste of cash. It's a luxury. Matter of fact is this, metal ball or not, it will not affect and should not affect your workout regime.

So why bother with such small things? I guess occupying yourself with such trivial matters beats actually working out in general.
