Dear all seniors,

after reading 26 pages, i guez wat i can do to increase the performance for my Wira 1.5 (A) Carb. is as follows;

1.) Change ori extractor to powerzone 4-2-1
2.) Chg air filter to at least aftermarket drop-in or open-pod type. Powerzone air intake manifold, any comment ?
3.) i think wira stock muffler is already s-flow type, rite?
4.) is ori exhaust pipe ok or not ? need changes ?
5.) What about ignition system ? any effect in terms of power & FC performance ? What can be done here ? hmm.gif
6.) Last would be to replace stock camshaft to powerzone camshaft ? icon_rolleyes.gif

Wonder how much increase in perfomace would it be after done all these upgrades ? brows.gif

Can advise a little bit more ? notworthy.gif

I think the intake is only for fuel-injected models...
*
you mean the air intake manifold is just for fuel injection engine is it?
aduh ! I didn't know that ... doh.gif

5)Dont bother
6)Ditto

Heres my advise,
-good quality extractor, piping can remain same, follow ori route (dont oversize too much,1.6" is good for stock engine),straight thru muffler.

-High flow, good filteration air filter. Apexi dual cone recomended

-Do up your handling such as stiffer suspension, shorter springs and anti roll bars.

-Engine management
*
Straight thru muffler is better kah ? Is the sound very loud like the ah beng one ?

what is engine management ? is it engine tuning ah ? unsure.gif

1) correct
2) Powerzone is a reputable company.. better pick their items.
3) Yes, stock is s-flow
4) Depends.. u wan top speed or acceleration?
5) Change thicker spark plug cable and change to Iridium spark plugs (just my recomendation)
6) No. Do not change camshaft just YET. Changing to racing camshaft is the last upgrade possible.. like oversize piston, change compression, etc etc then only can change camshaft. or else.. u'll just gain 1-3bhp and 1-4Nm torque.

After all those upgrade stated above, ur car can feel like 1.6 already..
*
Not quite sure about No.6, what u mean is if I chg the camshaft first I can only gain 1-3 bhp increase is it ?
Correct me if i am wrong.
I saw in powerzone website, they have this thing called "POWERZONE 4G15 STROKER KIT (1600cc)" if i straight go for this kit, then end of story liao lor ? no need to go thru so many process, can I ? sweat.gif

header can be intake manifold or exhaust manifold...
*

Btw if change exhaust manifold & put in open air pod intake system can increase by how many hp ? hmm.gif

try to use a lightened & dampened crank pulley first......... u'll be plesantly surprised by the performance increase, especially for an auto transmission car......
*
Not sure about this, is lightened flywheel & crank pulley the same thing ah ? or 2 diff things but need to do at the same time ? rclxub.gif

Thanks for your infor. very useful tech. explaination. rclxms.gif So, how much r u selling your mythelogy pulley ?
How fast is the installation for tat?
Maddriver, can advise me more on how to improve my wira performance ?1.5 (A) carburetor engine icon_question.gif
Do u think if change the exhaust system from extractor to piping & muffler on top of changing to lightened crank pulley will give a boost to the hp ? brows.gif

if you wanna play camshaft, better port the head and do the intake as well as an oversized TB, finish up the combo. cam pulley to fine tune the camshft (optional but recommended)

Bottom block you can do later. If your car is a 1.6 to begin with, the head combo itself is very effective already
*
How much it cost to port the head normally ? do the intake means to get a good air filter system ? What is oversized TB ? Can advise more pls notworthy.gif

installation takes half an hour....... btw, what's the condition of the engine like? done how many km? before u think of seriously modding the car, u need to see if the engine can take the extra stress. a fast road spec camshaft and a ported and polished cylinder head will be good, but can the engine take the extra stress the additional power will bring?
*
Mileage 95K+, engine with no major problem except some m-oil leaking at the timing belt seals as informed. PnP cylinder head cost me how much ? do u sell extractor also ? cool2.gif
