hi fellow gurus.

would wish to ask a question on my newly installed hotbits extractor + full exhaust system.

i drive a Kenari 1.0 manual.

i'm liking the performance gain pretty much but i only have 1 small issue.

at certain acceleration rate, i can hear somewhat a whistling sound to some extent.

i'm arguing between myself on whether that sound is normal or not.

the behavior is like this. the sound will be more prominent when i am at low RPM and then starts to accelerate at a fast rate (flooring quarter to half the paddle). it happens when shifting low gears (1st to 3rd gear).

but at anytime, once the RPM reaches for example 4.K and above, the sound disappears and the sound is back to normal. for high gears 4th and 5th, the sound will not be that prominent. and it will also not happen if i accelerate on a slow and normal pace, then shift at 3K RPM.

so i am assuming perhaps there are a few reasons:
1) exhaust leak
2) variation in exhaust pressure during acceleration causing the sound to happen at certain pressure level
3) reasons that i am not sure of, which is also partly why i posted this in the first place

how should i pin-point better where the problem is? i did my setup at speedworks workshop and actually i'm quite satisfied with the workmanship. installation was pretty solid and i would try not to attribute the problem to exhaust leak due to improper installation (at least i'll park that as last priority if all else fails).

so would kindly appreciate comments on this issue before i end up visiting the workshop again. thanks.

errm. should be from exhaust. at least that is what my ears are telling me tongue.gif

i mean literally winding down my window and closely hearing it while i perform different variations of acceleration and gear shifting sweat.gif

Can V assume there is no high flow air filter (esp. the bolt-on type) installed on to the car?

So now V can suppose tht isn't the whistling noise from the air filter huh?

I haven't heard of the whistling noise U were telling, so dare not give U any comment.

But I'm kindda curious y does exhaust emmiting whistling noise, it makes me think of the whistling noise from the exhaust turbine  tongue.gif

haha. how i wished! tongue.gif

engine is still stock.

don't think the sound is from the air filter.

this morning, i have a different theory. might be because of vibration during fast exhaust flow due to sudden acceleration rate? is this common? any remedies?

Donoe how V can help U without actually hearing the whistling noise le  sweat.gif

So any comment Vr giving here would be like agak agak oni.

Have U checked all the exhaust clamps and mountings?

U start to notice this kindda of noise after the exhaust piping modification done?

ya wo. i think it is vibration noise leh. i only experience this after installing the exhaust system.

previously also not stock exhaust edi. but no such sound...

anyone have similar vibration issues?
