QUOTE(noct @ Apr 9 2012, 04:54 PM) maybe i will go to kweng shop to get the new system i guest. i dont know why some condemning kweng but maybe i should have a try. but before that does anyone know where is marco branches around shah alam or subang? I think you'd be better off with Everco Sunway or Supersprint (a bit expensive). Wai Heng uses crap mufflers and they just want to do your business so they can promise you all sorts of crap sh1t. Results wise might be not be what you'd like to have. |

Results wise might be not be what you'd like to have. my muffler is from wai heng (dealt through kweng)i wouldn't call it crap, however it isnt anything spectacular for sure. it is cheap and pretty much, you get what you paid for. if anything, it is really heavy (much heavier than my stock 12+ years muffler), and its also much bigger. if that says anything la since i dont know much about exhaust, and i certainly didnt pry open to see what is inside. if they put rocks to make it heavier i also wouldn't know ive even put a review up on his thread and on the iswara thread in F&F. to summarize, a bit disappointed on the top end, and the noise it outputs. however i am very well aware of how much i paid, and how much exhaust shops usually charge outside (jian heng, or the shops at sunway such as everco/supersprint). i paid less than rm800 while the other shops i have mentioned will cost at least 1.5k - 2k++, which is pretty much more than double. tldr: you get what you pay for. if you can pay more, go ahead, else you pay cheap get cheap things and deal with it |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Apr 12 2012, 04:03 PM) my muffler is from wai heng (dealt through kweng) If you compare with stock muffler, it's definitely not a fair comparison because stock exhausts are normally designed for emission and a silent drive. Therefore it's always huge and big i wouldn't call it crap, however it isnt anything spectacular for sure. it is cheap and pretty much, you get what you paid for. if anything, it is really heavy (much heavier than my stock 12+ years muffler), and its also much bigger. if that says anything la since i dont know much about exhaust, and i certainly didnt pry open to see what is inside. if they put rocks to make it heavier i also wouldn't know ive even put a review up on his thread and on the iswara thread in F&F. to summarize, a bit disappointed on the top end, and the noise it outputs. however i am very well aware of how much i paid, and how much exhaust shops usually charge outside (jian heng, or the shops at sunway such as everco/supersprint). i paid less than rm800 while the other shops i have mentioned will cost at least 1.5k - 2k++, which is pretty much more than double. tldr: you get what you pay for. if you can pay more, go ahead, else you pay cheap get cheap things and deal with it From my experience, WAI HENG is really the WORST exhaust shop I've ever visited. If you would've told me, I can introduce you to some exhaust shops in Ampang which has locally made mufflers that has better quality compared to the crap that WAI HENG offered. It is also priced cheaper (from what I paid WAI HENG). I agree with you that what we pay is what we get but paying for crap is really a waste of money. I went to WAI HENG 3 times in the case of my Accord and I really gave up on the 3rd time. After that I went to normal exhaust shop to replace the mufflers and piping (paid even a lower price) and that was even better because the sound level is more acceptable, my car dashboard doesn't vibrate like shit anymore and I get back my acceleration. There's really no point of me giving a negative remark about WAI HENG if not because they screw my car up for 3 times |

Therefore it's always huge and big well the sflow muffler i gotten from them are a lot bigger than my stock, and i've been told that the bigger/heavier it is, the more sound dampening material it has. and that is my main criteria: no performance drop, and having my exhaust as silent as possibleFrom my experience, WAI HENG is really the WORST exhaust shop I've ever visited. There's really no point of me giving a negative remark about WAI HENG if not because they screw my car up for 3 times a bit disappointed as the sflow kinda killed my top end (however my previous max speed is still achievable, just takes longer time) and it is actually lounder than my stock i do gain a lot of low/mid end power/torque, and the back pressure is really sweet to have to help curb my heavy footing and help FC a weeee bit haha. i didnt knew you were into cars and much less know that you're well versed in exhausts, else i would've asked your opinions/advise too though TBH, having an accord and visiting a "cheap and cheerful" shop is kinda "mismatched" if you ask me i mean, at least i know what i am going into, and to me, for a 12+ years old iswara, let's say they f***ed my exhaust up, chances are the effects are going to be very minimal, and chances are i won't be losing all that much. Thankfully that isn't quite the case and i like the new muffler/tip look (fake twin pipe tip lol): http://twitpic.com/8p226p http://twitpic.com/8p22bq more pics: http://twitpic.com/photos/Quazacolt?page=2 top speed: http://twitpic.com/8sueki (i actually got around 167-168 with the +3.4% on a recent run at north south highway which i mentioned on iswara/midnight club thread on FNF, no pics for that though Maybe when i bought my new car, and it passed manufacturer warranty (looking at the civic for now lol!) and its time to burn cash into cars (lol |

Guys, i heard forte have 2 o2 sensors before / after cat converter, if i want to remove the cat converter wouldn't it screw up the AF metering on the car? I'm not sure how the 2 O2 sensors will work without the cat converter.. normally exhaust shop will remove your cat converter for better performance right? =/

I'm not sure how the 2 O2 sensors will work without the cat converter.. normally exhaust shop will remove your cat converter for better performance right? =/ Most modern cars would have O2 sensors before/after the catalytic converter. Normally if you remove your cat-con and replace it with something else, they will make a hold and re-insert your O2 sensor into it. However, not all modern cars would experience a performance gain without the catalytic converter. When I did it on my Waja, I felt the difference but removing it on my previous Accord CM5 (K24A), I lose a lot of low end torque so obviously the sensor is reporting the wrong information or some sort. Therefore it is best if you can ask around as to whether anyone has removed the cat-con on a Forte and if it helps |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Apr 9 2012, 10:45 AM) How's your exhaust now? Have you changed? Not yet bro. Got quoted a shop nearby for around 150 and everco at 400..Added on April 9, 2012, 10:51 am Bro, I don't think there is a local aftermarket performance exhaust with reasonable price available for your engine.... Probably you can try kweng84's exhaust shop? Maybe even Marco should be able to cater to your needs dilemma. |

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Apr 12 2012, 05:46 PM) Same goes to my friend's Peugeot 206.My friend did his first exhaust there. The shop recommended ridiculous setup with oversized pipes. Since my friend don't know much about exhaust so he just went with it. My friend's car FC dropped to almost 1/4, the car is vibrating unevenly and it's too loud even thought he specifically told him he wanted less noisy setup. He went there twice to check what's the problem. He gave up and went to Sunway's SuperCircuit. They laughed the moment they saw a glimpse of the exhaust QUOTE(clawhammer @ Apr 12 2012, 10:34 PM) Personally I think Everco is not very expensive, they are still alright I went to Everco yesterday to do my Viva. They quoted me RM1.9K for a full stainless steel setup |

just wanna share. do look for this shop for exhaust setup:
1. ah heng - usj 1 2. jian hang - taman bolton 3. ijan - batu caves these are good exhaust shops, but a bit pricy if u compare to Kweng/Wai Heng, ofc. ..but most of all, you got the best out of your penny. Added on April 24, 2012, 11:10 pmops..guys, i wondered on the nets today and found REMUS muffler. I knew it is a good product, but i wonder if it could fit on my Persona..got universal one with 2" inlet and dual 2" tips ..comments?
