if u increase by 3dbm at every level, u are actually multiplying/amplifying 2x the tx power (wireless transmission power)

e.g if default 20dbm = 100mW (miliwatt), +3 to 23dbm =200mW, + 3 up to 26dbm = 400mW. it is 2x the tx power at every level. add 1dbm also big effect: 26dbm = 400mW, +1 to 27dbm = 500mW.

consequences:
1) speed up the wear and tear of hardware transmission unit, modem durability is ignored. ppl who not quite understand the risk keep tuning up happily, end up sudden dead of modem tx unit during usage or one day u plug in to computer but cannot dial up, ie modem still recognised by computer, but no more wireless function, can't connect to internet.

2) increasing 2x rf radiation if tune up doubling power to human body. FCC certification no longer apply bcoz they test and approved on original hardware setup.
but if don't mind,  can actually tune up to 30dbm if dare: 1000mW of a single usb modem, how powerful is it right.
for this kind of risk journey tutorial, a big and clear WARNING STATEMENT TO END USER AND DISCLAIMER OF LEGAL LIABILITY should have been lay out clearly and let user be well informed of consequences.

now even at day time i can get 1.85 ~1.97MB/s speed & stable too

to be honest i rather brick it this way than any other way that happen to me before,..

brick the E1762 when too rough with the CRC9 connector -> the external antenna hole gold ring = ding dong

brick the E372 maxis set by jumping from the wall shell to the floor = break

almost brick the ZTE MF680 by flashing B04 firmware  = Disable the DC

and many more experience that i have brick a few modem, 

if the modem want to die, it should die with pride in extreme performances at least,.. 

just my 2 cent

ho w to reset back the tower tx tweak?seems no difference with my E372 modem..

so i have seen a lot of u guys use the cooling fan separately.. i watch a few youtube videos and i made this so that i have a better flexibility to place the modem anywhere by merging the cooling fan with router. thought i share it with everyone so here it goes.

first u have to check the router's power adapter at the output part. so what i have here is a 12v output..


i then bought a 12v dc standard pc cooling fan then i pull of the wire other than black and red. the one i bought had an extra yellow colored wire.. its not necessary so i removed it.

as the fan will spin at high rpm, we need a stable place to put it. i kinda ran out of ideas so i just stick it to the modem's heatsink u can see it at the picture below


so after a few tries with the long wire (trying to fit it in the case) i soldered it at the power port legs like in the picture.. u might wanna try touching those with the wire and see whether the fan spins or not.


voila, everything quite done now.. honestly i hate this part. i drew a circle to fit the fan with the case. had to remove the centre because of the fan's position. then is just make small holes around the circle just like blacktubi's mod. i carefully then knock the part out and had kinda like jagged circle (cant affortd a dremel  ) lastly i filed all the jagged corners until the fan fit.




anyway dust is quite a problem now  i had to clean it once in a while... and if you feel that the fan drain power until the modem's perfomance drop, u can opt to buy 12v 2a power adapter if u like. mine quite ok.. no drop whatsoever. beyond these things that i mentioned everything works perfectly
