Do they balance the CP on crank or off crank? If they balance CP off the crank which is most probable, then doesn't matter how many holes it has to replace with a new LCP.

If OEM CP is balanced on crank, even removing it and reinstalling it later, will have unbalanced crank

Added on September 20, 2012, 5:35 pmya right... get from JKR, then from solid form, you bake it, heat it up, then paint it using brush. after painting, dip brush into cleaner to clean that brush... so many procedure.

compare to the bulk product? just spray spray spray... throw the can... done

It has so many holes, probably of a bad lemon stock CP which somehow production line insisted to balance it for use.

Or imagine an intern trying to balance his first CP.

I'm starting to be lost with your post.

I'm just saying balancing is done off crank, so balancing holes on stock pulley has no relation to the intensity of vibration after installing LCP.

I dunno what you saying though. You didn't said that before. Why stock CP with holes got anything to do with the installing LCP?

What mengsuan meant was - if the CP was balanced in factory (drill holes) before it was installed on the crankshaft, then the CP as a component itself is already balanced when it goes on the crankshaft. Means whatever vibration coming off the CP+crankshaft assembly must be coming from the crankshaft, since the CP is already balanced.

By that reasoning, since the vibration is coming from the crankshaft, than whatever pulley you put on it your engine will it still vibrate.

However, if the CP was balanced together with the crankshaft, means the crankshaft MUST work with that particular pulley to be balance. If you put another pulley eg. LCP on that crankshaft, it will no longer be balanced.
