Thanks timeonce for your answers. Very informative indeed.

Want to ask u guys, when u drive your Prius C on the highway, would it feel underpowered? Like, need to `tekan` a lot for it to move?
*
Because PC using E-CVT and E-Throttle, the smooth make you feel underpower, if u drive honda city v-tec CVT 7 speed before , then will feel the same thing, and the wide body+low downforced aerodynamics design+firm suspension, drive till 120km/h still feel very very slow, for CVT car, if we want sudden speed up in highway ,have to tekan pedal at least half or full smile.gif unless we driving nissan teana 250v XCVT biggrin.gif
If really want enjoy PC power, Don't use ECO SCORE display, the eco -power zone bar always make us no brave to tekan pedal , switch to ENERGY MOMITOR display more enjoy and aggressive rclxms.gif

Lets start by tires.

Wanted to change to MICHELIN Primacy HP once tyres is worn out but seems dont have PC size.
*
Why not Michelin PS3 195/55/R15??? PC handling not bad, if change to sport tyre nice to drive.......
for PC stock size 185/60/r15, only Bridgestone RE080 and yokohama A-Drive got.....

Drive up genting with my wife last sept. Personaly I feel more powerful compare Vios ( FYI I drive Vios G limited 2011)
Easily over take a lot big car like 2000 cc car. But fc very high cry.gif
*
i drove prius c to genting more than 5 times already, everytime also 3 person in car including me, when uphill rev 99 and overtake lots cars still can get 16km/L , from setia alam to genting pergi-balik around 180km just used 8 litres of petrol, still very very low fc icon_rolleyes.gif
For PC, guys please don't use petronas and shell petrol, low fc less 50km compare BHP/Caltex every tank of fuel, and BHP/Caltex give more power and less engine noise to PC icon_rolleyes.gif

wow seriously? just out of curiosity, which fuel is everyone using? I'm using Shell RON95 since my family have been using it since dunno how long ago.. I'm no expert in fuel so maybe everyone can pitch in their opinion?
*
you can try BHP for your PC, you will get amazing result in terms of fc and power

finally, finished reading all pages in this v2 topic. huhuhu...
info regarding comparison between pc and vios performance, some said pc better and some said vios better. so, i just assume both are about the same, might felt differ due to individual factors.

one more aspect i didnt find anyone discussing it (or maybe i missed it), between vios and PC, which one is more silent in cabin, and which one is better handling at both cornering and highway high speed cruising?
*
You will feel vios powerful because of conventional 4AT super-ect, you will feel PC no power because of e-cvt , CVT just too smooth untill we can't feel any power and feel want to sleep, but in real world no matter 0-100, 110-170kmh , PC is faster and more powerful , the traction battery+motor torque is already 169nm compare to vios maximum torque 145nm.................because of eco car characteristic(pc dont have sport mode) and ecvt, we want full power then have to floor the pedal till end , that time you will feel PC is worth for $$$$ ........because you will get 1.8L car max power but only 16-18km/L low FC

You're welcome. Wanna brain wash you into our gang  cool2.gif  cool2.gif  cool2.gif
But seriously, since you do travel frequently on North-south and east-west highways, I think safety is the utmost priority, which means PC beats Vios hands down (VSC is super important for that, plus 7 air bags). I would say handling, noise insulation, etc comes later than safety. Anyhow, the sharp cornering, sound insulation and comfort are very satisfactory to me. Power? Getting up hill needs torque more than horsepower.
+1. Now I remembered I came across that somewhere...
Guys, most of you recommended BHP and caltex over shell and petronas. What about ESSO Mobil? I'm using that because of smile points  smile.gif , but are BHP and caltex better than ESSO Mobil?
*
i think now no more esso rite? already replaced by petron cry.gif ..............for now bhp the best follow by caltex........petron,shell and petronas seem not suitable for pc sad.gif

Just saw the Prius C TRD sportivo at setia city mall toyota roadshow, the bodykit made by UMW 1?? the paint job just so so, the rear lamp eye lid look very ugly, why they don't just follow hong kong PC high spec that give LED headlamp+smoke headlamp, auto headlamp washer and 16inch wheels like US high spec?
they want earn big $$$ from the bodykit?? and if pC with bodykit, 15inch wheels look very small already.......

to deckbuild,

I think most of us experience same thing. No worries. It will go back up after your 3rd service ^^ .

As engine still run in.

I will try fully synthetic at 10k km then report in. Now 3750km clock in with my PC ^^ .
*
But the Toyota full synthetic is 5W40 Rite?? kinda thick for atkinson cycle engine because Atkinson Engine weak on low end torque, every time the engine start up to charge the battery the car feel very heavy to accelerate if we use thicker oil............ semi syn they give 10W30, wonder why they dun have full syn 5w30??

I'm not sure about Toyota, but I know for Singapore side, they using 5w30 castrol in drums and now it's in my engine... I can feel the sluggish acceleration, and the 5min FC page, the right bar mostly below 20km/l instead of before servicing which maintains around 28 to 30km/l.

From what I search, the original oil that comes shipped with the Prius C is 0w20 or 5w20, and we are suppose to use that rating....

Also from reading this forum, I thought Malaysia Toyota provide W20 oil for Prius C?
*
My PC haven't clock 10k km yet, but oredi 7500km, still using mineral 10w30 for run in, what i noticed is FC not much different if compare to stock 0w20 , but engine noisier a bit, so if next service i will use 10w30 semi syn will be enuff, the key good FC for PC should be petrol and tire pressure, BHP/Caltex fuel + 33psi tire pressure give me at least 25-26km/L average fc every tank of fuel(50%city 50% highway).........

I'm lazy to type because my main aim is the 20, there are 0w-20 and 5w-20. The 0 and the 5 is useful only for cold weather. The viscosity during extreme cold temp which is usless in our countries because we are always hot  biggrin.gif

Mobil 1 actually have this test tube thing for comparing the 20 30 40 50 with a ball bearing inside. The ball bearing slight the fastest among all due to low viscosity.

Oil thin out when temperature, which is why we need certain viscosity, for Prius case, unless you always go beyond power zone, there is no benefit at all to use higher which causes more drag on the piston as well as those cranks and cams.

Added on November 9, 2012, 11:11 am
About the tire pressure, I actually up the front to 35psi and the rear 33 psi as of yesterday. So I don't believe it's the air pressure. Maybe I will drive home today and monitor it one last time before I drain and full it with W20 and share with all again  smile.gif

Added on November 9, 2012, 11:12 am

I'm not sure about the Malaysia side, do you all have free servicing for certain mileage which means engine oil included? or you get to choose your own EO or able to bring your own EO?
*
Our UMW only give free labour charge+E-voucher for 1000 and 5000km service, can choose between mineral, semi and full syn oil, can't bring our own oil, if can bring, i also want to use 0w20 oil thumbup.gif for modern engine, thinner oil always give good performace, FC , and 0w20 oil have better cleaning addictive compare to thicker oil thumbup.gif

For me, I did not see any difference after 1st and 2nd services. I have posted my FC rate since day 1 (April) earlier. I will go for my 3rd service next week.
*
Me too, almost same FC after 1k and 5k km service, what i noticed just my PC can't drink Shell and petronas or petron fuel(21-22km/L), only BHP/Caltex give me average 25-26km/L per tank for 50% highway+ 50% City drive
