Just to share this info, this will give peace of mind to all Keyless Entry Car Owner.

Prius is least likely to be stolen.

vehicles are less likely to get stolen because they’re, well, boring. Other times it’s because they have hefty security systems, high technology or their parts aren’t worth much overseas. In the case of the Prius, there is a smart key involved (high technology). When the Prius is still it its factory stages, its smart key has a unique Key ID Code burned into its memory as well as a Vehicle ID Code, which is unique to the vehicle it is paired with. Without the key in the car, the vehicle cannot be operated - both the engine and steering wheel are locked. In fact, the only recorded thefts of the Prius are by people who either left their keys in the car or out in the open.

Feel so relief after reading the articles. Thanks for sharing.

A months ago, someone tried to steal my neighbor new BM but bumped into another neighbor and failed. 2 weeks ago, another neighbor kena cars stolen, the guys broke into his living room, grab the keys and drove away a Mercedes, Camry, Alphard and Vios. A weeks ago, another neighbor Alphard and Mercedes also get stolen.

Damn scare my car will disappear when I wake up. Now have to keep the key secured (under my pillow). rclxms.gif

Added on October 8, 2012, 10:48 amFound out that pick up slowly, keep 80-100kmh constant speed with Eco doesn't really help.

Route: Cheras -> Kesas High way -> Glenmarie

This morning I was rushing time, off the Eco mode, pick up fast (not yet into the PWR bar, but close) and drove 100-120kmh. Reach in 30 mins instead of 50 mins, however the FC (25.8km/l) is slightly better than Eco driving style (25.4km/l), and 20 mins saved.

Follow (not tailgate!) a red PC (WXB **32) on the fast lane just now. Found out that red PC is quite HOT.

Altis 1.8 has max torque 173Nm, horsepower 140PS, weight 1270kg
PC has 169Nm, 101PS, weight 1140kg
So, it is comparable to Altis 1.8 if the battery is sufficient charged

i afraid that some GPS traker need wire cutting to enable remote engine stop or something else.. and this could void the warranty..

and i think that.. it very dangerous to cut off engine remotely by GPS system during the car is moving coz the car will lost power.. no power steering, less brake and our car might be involve in accident..

Wow... this is surely dangerous i can say.

wow.. yup kinda scary with car theft lately. As no matter luxury or normal car they still steal it.

Wonder if the report on crime decrease is true or not.

^^ yup. initially i like red but under yelow light red is not nice. under white and sunlight. Red is awesome like ferrari red.

Think its time to try eco mode now ^^ as lately been doing normal mode.

Yesterday try to hit 160kmph. Not bad for PC and its still very stable for a compact car ^^

Added on October 8, 2012, 2:14 pmAfter burn in at 10k km will start on hypermiling style ^^ .

Think its easily achieve 55mpg. As all my trip is 55mpg and above except stuck in jam for 2 hours last last friday.

55 MPG converted to KM/L (L/100KM) is 23.38 KM/L (4.28 L/100KM).

my best is 30.3 KM/L converted to MPG is 71.51.

Think alot of forumer get 30.3km/l and above ^^ will try to beat that once change to fully synthentic oild

1) Switch off your engine and you can still wind down or up the window (for approx 30 sec until the led indicator switch off)
2)You can turn off the radio by pressing the 'mode' button on the steering control for more then 2 seconds

guys any extra function not stated in the manual ??

Not worried about the car might be involved in accident if the thief is still inside the car, just hope that others are not involved as well if it happens.

To timeone & aragongon,

(1) My house is near Kota Damansara toll. I pay 2 toll charges twice daily (RM4.60/day) and hence no need to go through any traffic light to reach my office in Shah Alam where all road junctions mostly have a roundabout

(2) I normally leave early, meaning, minimum jam

(3) Going uphill I used petrol engine, going downhill I used glide mode as much as I could, flat road maximum EV mode.

Of course, it was not a 100% smooth journey, or else I could have achieved a better result.

Save time, yes, but not really saving money as toll charges are expensive...

Just collected my Aqua Mica Prius C today thumbup.gif.

Nearly went home without the car key because the SA had the key in his pocket when I drove off but luckily he remembered on time and called me so I waited for him by the side of the road to pass me back the key. Was told that I could still continue driving without the key but won't be able to start the car again later unless i have the key with me tongue.gif.

Engah, thanks for your sharing. Just 2 questions:
1.) when you are cruising, what speed are you maintain on?

2.) during acceleration, how you manage your accelerator? slow acceleration or fast acceleration? on what speed only you kick in petrol engine?

Thanks a lot!!! notworthy.gif
