After making the first game a multiplatform, and generally establishing a fanbase on both PS3/360, they decided it was a great idea to make it an exclusive? Crossing my fingers for some sort of special edition later for the PS4/NextBox, but chances are kinda slim. SEGA makes all sorts of weird decisions this gen; first Valkria Chronicles 2-3, now this? doh.gif

EDIT: This is probably more suited to be in the Nintendo section, but seeing how the previous game was multplat, I just thought this might warrant some discussion among fans here as well sad.gif

Well, if i'm not mistaken, Bayonetta 2 didn't even have the proper funding at first to be made. Nintendo then came in and help fund it. It's either a nintendo exclusive, or no bayonetta 2 at all.

I guess "Nintendoes what Sega don't" now. Kinda funny when you consider the old rivalry between them in the past.

this reminds me the moment when shinji mikami said the expects to be beheaded should RE C Veronica appears on other consoles aside from Dreamcast, in an EGM interview. Rest is history lol

CV? Pretty sure he was talking about RE4's GameCube exclusivity. That's why they had to redo the engine for it to work on the PS2 later. And then RE4 ends up on almost all platforms, lol.

Their stake in the IP is higher than you think. Sega cancelled Bayonetta 2, which indirectly means telling Platinum Games to pack their bags and go elsewhere.
Has there ever been a Nintendo published and funded game (third-party wise) ever making their release on another system?

Wouldn't that means the IP belongs to Platinum and this exclusivity is one of the many terms of agreement in the contract? Because usually the publisher of the 1st game would still be holding the rights, unless they(SEGA) sold it as well, much like Tecmo letting off the Fatal Frame series. That said, SEGA does make quite some of lame moves this gen. ValkyriaChronicles2 made a PSP game, VC3 never gets localized, shitty Bayonetta PS3 portjob...
To be honest I kinda wish P+ went to talk with SquareEnix/Konami instead. SE does surprising well with 3rd party lately; Konami is just an afterthought considering that they're now working on MGRising. At least with Nintendo out of the picture they can make games for all 3 platforms.

I don't really mind buying a WiiU, really. The only thing that worries me is the random decisions that Nintendo of USA makes when it comes to bringing Japanese games for localization. Remember FatalFrame 4? The fans had to do the translation work themselves. Then there's also that issue with region locking.

So far, my decision on this matter is to buy the game first, console later. This way I can wait for news of some "UltraHD edition Turbo" port and sell the WiiU copy, and at the same time wait for WiiU to release new models/upgrades/drop price laugh.gif

Inferior or not, I still have a blast playing it on PS3 biggrin.gif Hopefully the localization doesn't take long after the Japanese release (Not that it really matters, since it's mostly in English anyways tongue.gif)
