= Tangle-free musical experience!
This was long overdue since i had the bluetooth stereo headphones for almost two months, and i initially planned it to be paired with the Powerbook as the wireless solution to my music and movie needs. Sad to say, the headphones was leagues ahead of the Powerbook's Bluetooth implementation in terms of profiles available, and i was only able to pair them as crappy mono headset, since the Powerbook's BT stacks lack the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile(A2DP) and Audio Video Remote Control Profile(AVRCP), which are need to both listen to your audio in stereo(not in crappy mono as in standard BT headsets), and to control your BT enabled devices(such as BT enabled portable music/video device, PDAs, etc) from the headphone itself.I then left it alone for almost 2 month until Eten finally updated their ROM to include support for these two BT profiles in their new ROM image.
After the Eten M600 ROM update, i then unpacked the HT820 out of its box again, and paired them together. The stereo headphones is identified with the Eten's BT Manager as another BT headset, and paired without a fuss. First, tried the phone call quality. Made and received phonecalls without a fuss, with BT mic volume toned down to the 3rd notch on the settings on the Eten M600, clear as day! Then the moment of truth, i then gave the stereo headphones the exercise it needs on the A2DP and AVRCP profiles. First, loaded up a song on Windows Media Player on the Eten M600, namely "Who Are You" , theme song for CSI: Crime Scene Investigations.
The headphones supports control of AV controls on your device via the AVRCP profile, meaning that you can fast forward, rewing, skip next track, reverse to previous track, start and stop, volume up and down STRAIGHT from the controls on the Bluetooth headphones itself, resulting in a very handsfree control of your BT portable media device!
The manual reports 14 hours straight music playback, and 17 hrs straight on headset usage before the battery runs flat, and so far, it seems to hold true to its claims. The only worry here is not the battery life of the headphones, it is the battery life of your portable device! My Eten M600 will surely runs out of juice even before the headphones begins to depletes halfway of its battery endurance! Awesome!
Things yet to try:- Microsoft Voice Commander operations while calling, or commanding other apps when music is playing, using this headphones in Pocket Skype, and trying this headphones on my girlfriend's Atom. But from what i had experienced so far, this Motorola HT820 + Eten M600 combo(with latest ROM image) is unbeatable! This is next gen folks, wireless mobile freedom, with almost no compromise in audio quality!
