Hi, guys I was trying to build a website for myself I tested the pages on Firefox and everything working fine But when I test them in IE, almost everything goes all over the places After I fixed that with the help of Javascript and two CSS file solely dedicated to both IE and Firefox I tested the pages on Camino for Mac to show off my site to my frens but the same problem occurs again, Is there any way to ensure the web pages appear consistent across different browsers? Your help would be greatly appreciated

There are ways, though explaining them all to you would take a rather long time. Just stick with standard xHTML and CSS. Try to avoid doing stuff that is too fancy. At first i was like you too, firefox would look fine then IE would look like someone just bombed the website.
After sometime you will get the experience and find out how to make both look the same with just one CSS file. To do fancy stuff however you will normally need to use work-arounds (aka Hacks) which will only affect a particular browser.
Google around for "CSS compatibility hacks"

xy2610, The two main web browsers have different engine and their very own enhancements. For instance, only IE support VBScript. Their layer design coding method also differ. So far, there is not fast and single rule to settle this. I might be wrong. Happy Coding
