On 28th September, 22 more countries will be getting it including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland."

sorry to correct u, second batch don't have malaysia in it..

Yeah frustrating. In all probability it will launch in December I think, giving our local telcos time to get their LTE act together.

The 2600 band thing worries me too. Hope the backup 1800 band allows at least partial functionality and speed. Annoying.

While we're all here waiting for iOS 6 and iPhone 5, a little distraction.

Lol yup! Actually as a gaduh game fan, I have to say iOS has really pleased me in this regard, all the fighting classics have made it to the platform.

OUt of topic question,

Anyone of you guys are case junkies?  biggrin.gif
*
Not a junkie, but love checking out cases. Bought two moleskine style cases for my iPhone, one side opening from Pad & Quill, and one Apple bumper case. In the end just used my iPhone without case, except during travel.

Currently this case is making me drool, the Lunatik TakTik. Very sexy!

Yes indeed, but won't it make your phone bulky?

Yup, this is bulky in a G-Shock kinda way tho, which I like. Some however may prefer slim cases of course.

Man, it's so beautiful. Thankfully will have iOS 6 to play with until iPhone 5 officially arrives. Really hope LTE sorted out then.

Some how rather I still prefer Google Maps. Easy to see and understand the route. Hopefully Google will have an independent App for Google Maps.
*
I quite like the new maps, more green. if you notice since its vector based, the resizing when you zoom in and out is much faster. No doubt there are some things missing but that's expected with a new product I guess.

one thing I can't seem to activate is the live traffic. Can't see it even though I've clicked "Show Traffic"

Really sorry if already mentioned, but iOS 6 maps is crowd sourced, since Malaysia is probably not high on Apple's list to update, our contributions are probably worth more than say in US or Europe.

Just in case, here's how to add/suggest a location in iOS 6 maps:

1. Launch Maps from the Home screen.
2. Tap the page curl at the bottom right.
3. Tap the text that says Report a Problem above the Print button, middle right.
4. Tap location is missing.
5. Tap Next.
6. Drag the purple pin to the right location on the map.
7. Enter the location information.
8. Tap Send.
9. Add any comments, if asked.

I have actually already found improvements in just 24 hours so I guess our community is already hard at work with contributions.

Actually at the iphone 4S launch they told me that after I bought one with data plan I can buy four extra outright, making it five iPhones maximum.

How is the camera Iphone 4s comparable to Iphone 5. I heard that low lighting benefits most over 5. Still undecided to upgrade. I am very concern on improve quality of camera. The reason i jump from Iphone 4 to 4s was mainly due to the upgraded camera which is quite a big jump. Iphone 4 camera was rather poor.
*
Apparently very good. Also, as a bonus, looks like the iPhone 5 is very durable too.

While the chipping issue is cause for concern, it is still more a cosmetic issue over a durability issue.

i heard the chipping issue only happen to BLACK ones?
*
White also, but less cases for two reasons. Apparently black the more popular model, and secondly, less visible on white models.

I am hoping that it is just a bad batch issue and newer ones will be fixed.

guys im really frustrated at my iP5 battery life. 4hours of (almost) continues whatsapp drains 70% of my batter. HELP!

anyone else with iP5 can tell more about the battery life they are experiencing?
*
Check your Siri setting. I think by default Raise to Speak is set to 'On'.

Settings>General>Raise to Speak>Off

This was one of the things that used battery up on iPhone 4S, and noticed that it switched on after I upgraded.

Also want to add, remember that a new battery requires a few charge cycles before the battery life begins to stabilize. Give it a few more days and see if the problem persists.

still, if am getting i'll go for white. more feminine.. hehe

As a user of every model of iPhone I can tell you one thing. Every year is the same, iPhone launch, haters and media converge, blow up every single issue out of proportion, and turns out, most times exaggerated. Not to say there are zero issues, but normally never as bad as media makes out to be.

yah some still getting the "antennagate" problem  sad.gif
*
Ok a quick summary, I read a ton of Mac news everyday and seriously people need to chill out. Don't panic at the slightest thing.

Only issues so far:

1. Maps (which is a version 1.0 product)
2. Aluminium which scratches, this is again normal (except scratch out of the box, get a replacement)
3. Antennagate - Nope. Most of the threads originate from some YouTube video and has been debunked mostly.

Seriously speaking, media is overblowing, and in threads, Android trolls are creating controversies. Just go to GSMArena to read the most inane comments.

iPhone 5 is an excellent phone, when you buy, just check for scuffs and ask for replacement if you find any. Then, either buy a case, or just be careful like me but don't freak out when a scratch or two appears.

Lastly, contribute to Maps to accelerate its improvements and in the mean time, explore some alternative maps.

Above all else, just chill and enjoy your iPhone. Life's too short.

Seems that iPhone 5 is more resistant than made out to be.

ip5 back cover is made of aluminium, key is made of steel
steel > aluminium> wood/plastic in stiffness
aluminium will be scratch when interfered with steel, law of physic :-)
*
Yes but that is simply the rules of material strength and toughness, so not surprising.

What the video proves is at least the anodizing process is robust and not as flaky as has been made out. Perhaps just a bad batch in the initial manufacturing stage, meaning with proper care, iPhone 5 will last as well as any other anodized aluminium product.

yup agree
I just don't understand the big fuzz that it can be scratched when in contact with metal, any anodized aluminium casing will be scratched.
*
Apologies Miurra, I agree with you meant my response for BRY7 who you were also responding to. My statement was also wondering why anyone would be surprised car keys could scratch an iPhone.

the no.1 and no.3 test is totally bias towards iPhone 5

Last time when iPhone 4S faced SGS3 and iPhone fell on its face, Samsung guys were all like "tough luck".

It certainly seems like karma that in three separate drop tests now, even by Android supporters, this time the Samsung cracks or shatters. A little case of dose of own medicine.
