Simple answer:

It all depend on how much your Budget is.

For limited budget, you might want to go for:
-2 Blackthorne set (Chest + Pants grants u 100 vit bonus .. this will give u plenty of EHP for survival)
-2 IK set (Belt + Boots@Helm grants u 60 AR .. EHP and some STR for dmg)
-Craft the new BoA plans for:
a) Vit Shoulder (main source of EHP)
b) Str Amulet (try get a bifecta at least ias + cc @ cc + chd)
c) Str Glove (try get bifecta as well .. if for ammy u get chd then glove get ias + cc @ vice versa)
- Helm ,, if u go for IK Boots then get a cheap Str Mempo (below 200 str & no vit are cheap nowadays)
- Rings: if u plan to para lvl fast .. craft a Hellfire ring (try get bifecta as well .. cc + ias@chd) & a rare bifecta ring
- Bracers: if u want to get 24MS then buy a lacuni with at least 4% CC. If u dont mind having 12MS then craft Str bracers.

Weapons are your main source of DPS .. and will consume most of your budget 
- depend if u r 2h @ DW
- things to look for in wpn: Open Socket, Critical Hit Damage & Life Steal
- always use Axe @ Mace on main hand (to get 10% CC bonus from Weaponmaster passive)
- for offhand either an Echoing Fury @ rare sword

I save my last bit of important advice last:
Ask if any of our LYN fellow barbs have spare gears to donate    it would help u save on ur budget & plan other upgrades based on what gears u get from donation 

btw i tink switching ur RS ruby to ur helm can increase ur EXP much better , just my 2 cent
