good idea if you plan to save but do not mind burning a few hours each day of your life away jamming at causeway. also the potential victim of snatch theft or robbers. the risk of being mugged, stabbed, kidnap, rape?, etc etc. Go ahead and stay in JB.

Also the travel time is not that bad either. they keep saying waste 2-3 hours a day. but they never calculate the time spend even when you stay in SG.
For example. You stay in Sengkang, work in raffles place, you need to spend around 45 mins MRT ride. If you stay in JB, lets say u ride a bike, you only need around 1 1/2 hours to reach office (sometimes earlier).
in total you only spend 45 mins more compare to your SG counterpart, but in return, you get cheap rent, cheap petrol, freedom to move around.

I have workers starving becoz nvr pay wages overdue for 2 months. And rental of the land for their operation. The thing about construction company is once you don't have the funds to complete the Project on time, the revenue would not come in and will be delayed. Anyway they are not making money also.

Now my boss is ignoring me whenever I request for any payment. He is hiding in overseas and it's hard to contact him. I feel abandoned. But partly is my fault. Becoz I told him how much debts we have and it is impossible to sustain the company.

Anyway you guys are right. The company is dying a slow death. And I have to get a new job.

Food : Sg is not much diff compare to M'sia, but even cheaper if u do not convert the currency
Car : No need car in SG. Public transportation in SG is unlike M'sia ones, theirs are much more on time. I seem to find jams in Sg more manageable compare to KL jams.
Family : Definitely in M'sia
Friends : Part of them in M'sia, part of them in Sg
House : Thats the sad part. Double storey house and big room in M'sia, but small HDB room with prices like SGD of 700 and above at prime areas.

Well said that $$ is the only thing that attracts. Which is also the only thing that cased many to actually flock to Sg.
To be honest, if M'sia was doing a little better in its economy, say closing in the currency gap, who'd rather work in Sg compare to our homeland? All of us have no choice but to bear with the Sg cultural shock and the living environment and lifestyle in SG. I've decided to finally make my move after 5 years of working in Malaysia and seeing no future to it. My friends who started out in Sg already has more than SGD 50k savings and I don't even have RM 30k to begin with, many of them are eyeing on property investments in M'sia and I don't even think of owning a property in M'sia. This is so sad.

Guys who you work in Singapore. Do you feel secure working there with work permit? Can the company just not renew your permit and ask you leave end of the permit expiry?
