Hi guys,
I will start work at SG in November and need some advice. My office is located at Jurong Island. Is mit more economical to rent at Nusajaya and drive my car there every day? Office starts at 8 am so what time do I need to leave for work?

QUOTE(aeiou007 @ Sep 18 2012, 09:33 PM) Hi All, finally got my EP approved. Just would like to ask do you normally take bus/flight back to hometown, my case is KL. Think to go back this week, but the flight is expensive + LCCT taxi fare.. how about bus? which one to recommend? from woodland to sunway or subang or puchong.. thx in advance ^6 Bro care to share some tips? I'll start work in November. I just got the IPA from my company. Where to do the medical test? How long to get results? QUOTE driving to work is always good. 2nd link traffic also not that bad. You could probably leave as late as 7am I checked the toll rates. Bloody hell! if daily drive a car need to spend around RM40 for toll alone. I asked a friend in JB and he says the cheapest is to take bus and then lrt. Then I need to wake up at 430 waaaa

Hi guys,
I plan to rent a place near Bukit Indah. Then take the bus to SG via second link. If I take the 6am bus from Bukit Indah, can I reach the Boon Lay Bus Station at 730 am? Do you guys know the exact location of the Bukit Indah Bus Terminal? Cant find it in google maps. Can we park our car near the bus terminal?

Hi guys, can you share some experience on relocating to SG? Im going there next week and will bring my whole desktop rig and luggage. Do I need to go through red lane at customs and declare? All my stuff are more than three months old but I dont have any receipts as supporting documents. Appreciate your advice. TQ

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Nov 11 2012, 11:08 PM) If your are walking to the check point or air port. They will ask you to take out your labtop before X-ray. Been carrying labtop in and out, no question asked. If you are willing to spend some money, take a cab from Larkin directly to your new place in sg. Save the trouble to hand carry your desktop(monitor?) and luggage. I forget the rate, should be less than 50rm iirc. You should not be taxed for your own desktop but if you happen to piss them off, they can ask you to power on your desktop and check if you have illegal content in your PC. I was thinking the same thing. Do they actually want us to power up the desktop to check the contents? Do they check whether the installed windows is legitimate? whether the media content is legitimately purchased from online stores etc..?

Are any of you in the oil and gas industry over there? I will start in SG next week and am curious about the work environment and culture etc. I do realize that Singapore is far more competitive than Malaysia economically, hence the employers are more tough and demanding. Thus I am preparing myself physically and mentally to face the challenges ahead. Previously I've worked with Singaporeans who were based in Malaysia so I've got some raw experience in dealing with them. I took the job offer because I felt that working in a competitive environment, in a country that is on par with western nations would significantly boost my career credentials. Part of me is quite intimidated by the many stressful views I've heard regarding employment there. However Im taking my chances and just going with it. After all nothing is easy in life, right ?
Anyway from what I understand the issue of the massive influx of foreign workers to SG is a contentious political issue over there. I wonder whether the sentiment of resentment against foreigners is manifested in the attitude of the local employers/mid-level managers against foreign recruits.
