You DO know that it'll cost you $400/month in daily VEP charges to drive your M'sia car in, right? That's not including petrol, ERP, parking, car price/installment, maintenance, etc. Seems that a decent chunk of that $3300 will also go to the car upkeep.

If they expect you to buy and maintain a car that is driven daily into SG, then your real/effective salary is only about $2000.

If I were you, I would forget about this "opportunity". I would walk away... and If they counteroffer, my response would be $3300 salary (assuming this is already market, or definitely ask for more if it's not) and a non-negotiable minimum $1500 car allowance (you should ask for $2000 and let them work it downwards).

Hi guys, that $500 not included parking, ERP and petrol. All these 3 company do provide another $240 which claim by receipt. I do calculate the VEP and that is why I still not yet accept the offer.

This company will apply my S-Pass than once it approve then I will nego the offer again.

May I know do I need to pass any ERP from causeway to Ubi View area if I driving? I will drive along BKE then PIE where uncle google show me.

Thanks.

Why are you negotiating only after your work pass has approved??

I was doing sales and the company provided car(petrol, parking and ERP all claimable) to drive to customers' place. Of course I was too chicken to drive, so I took taxi instead. These are expenses incurred for WORK, why do you have to pay for it?

I am negotiate which the company but the HR said ever both partise agree the offer but S-Pass not approve also no point (this are the meaning what they said) but they know I not accept the current offer and they insist want to apply the S-Pass for me so I feel once the pass approve, I still can negotiate on the benefit and salary ( this is what I feel) as I still not yet sign the offer letter yet.

Bro, may I know what is your benefit your company provided if you drive your own car? I can compare and talk with the company. Thanks

IIRC there's one at BKE before going to PIE and another one at PIE before Stevens Road exit. ERP rates depends on your travelling time

I am no bro.
I'd put it to the HR, even if S-PASS is approved, both parties do not agree with the offer tabled still result in "NO POINT".

The people in my previous company driving their own cars get allowance, petrol, ERP and parking to be paid by company separately. I don't know why you want to compare with people driving their own cars in Singapore.
1. They live here.
2. They need the car to fetch their family around (mostly got children one)

Thanks, I also check and I might need to go through 2 ro 3 ERP where above mention area ERP cost was $3.50 and $2. This 2 area only collect ERP during morning? How about after office hours? Thanks

The $1500-2000 car allowance I mentioned also doesn't include parking, ERP and petrol. The principle is that if the company expects you to drive on the job, they should provide a car or pay you enough allowance to buy a suitable car.

Btw... the $240 claims... barely enough to fill your petrol tank 3 times.

I am afraid the company(HR) still insist on applying your pass has nothing to do with their willingness to counter a better offer.
HR is not the one who determines your salary. And there's really no point in comparing the allowance given to my ex-superiors as they probably earn much more.

Usually the company will provide car lah!

Thanks to all who give advise. All the advise is valueable to me to continue talk with the company. Maybe I will not request 1500 car allowance but will request higher basic salary due to it will be good for my next job hop. Car allowance is fix for each company and I think unable to nego on this but basic salary can be nego smile.gif

First off, why do you want to negotiate after getting the S-pass approved?
I duno...it may or may not be a point in future application of pass.
I mean, if approved and your negotiation breaks down, your pass is cancelled or something...what if that becomes a mark for MOM that you are simply fooling around.
Why risk it?

When you change company, the old Pass will be cancelled and they will apply new Pass for you, Pass valid period usually two years, i dont think you need to serve minimum year according to MOM but if your agreement provided by the company does say so, then you have to follow.
