you dont have to check the car park price if you are driving a Malaysian car. Foreign vehicle are not allowed to purchase HDB car park anyway.
If you really need the car, then the only choice for you is to stay in JB. actually, staying in JB is not that bad. Depends on your working hours.
If you work from 9:30 to 6:30, you can leave home at 8:30am and u still can reach office in time. only pain is when going back. it might take 2 hours. (I am talking about Causeway)
If use 2nd link, then no jam but prepare to pay super high toll everyday.
*
My office hours is 9-5:30pm....I not worry during going back but worry going to work as late is not good for me.....May I know how much if I use Tuas and Woodland if I driving from Johor.....Thanks.

If you need to drive on the job, the company should provide a tool-of-trade car to you.

Company did not provide transport for me but provide ERP, Parking and Petrol

yup..fully agree....else either take cab n claim back with receipts from company...or else drive your own car..n claim back everything from your company...toll/petrol/ERP/VEP/parking n etc
*
I can claim all those but VEP and toll....I need to negotiate with the company if my S-pass approve and they need me to join them. Thanks all

What the heck SG ATM?

Why POSB can't use UOB ATM and vice versa?
In Malaysia, all ATM can be use inter-changeably

I mean shouldn't it be more convienient for public?

Then it doesn't sound like a competitively compensated job.

For employees who need to drive for their job, MNCs in Singapore usually provide a company car or a monthly allowance around $1500 to buy and maintain the car. Out of pocket expenses like ERP, parking and petrol are reimbursed.

I don't get a tool of trade car but I still claim any taxi fares, or ERP/Parking/Mileage if I need to go anywhere apart from the office. Alternatively, I use one of the company drivers. The point is that any out of pocket transportation costs other than home to/from office should be paid by the company anyway. If the job needs you to drive instead of take public transport, then the company needs to provide or pay for the car.

You can use NETs which is way more convenient in a pinch, than using ATMs.

I think because you can merely find all ATMs in a shopping center, so it'd not be a problem.

NETS is troublesome which results in longer queue as need to wait the machine, keyin pin and so on.

I see many aunties, $5 oso wanna use NETS, my goodness....

Cash definitely results in shorter queue.

Dunno why atm in SG loses to MY in terms of convenience.

then take Tuas...

for Tuas, toll RM7.50 + RM7.50 + $3.20 + $3.20 + $20 VEP.
Causeway toll RM2.90 + RM1.20 + $20 VEP

My point was that if you run out of cash, you don't have to find an ATM first before you can buy something. Even taxis accept NETS. NETS is anytime, anywhere. You can say cash is the same... but only if you have it in the first place.

Actually I don't share that feeling.

ATMs are usually quite few and far between in Malaysia. Like in my taman in Ipoh, the only Maybank ATM machines are in Jusco and the Maybank branch itself. The other banks are only at their branches. And I'm not ready to pay extra to withdraw money from other banks' ATMs (NETS is free).

In AMK, there's a POSB/DBS ATM machine at every commercial HDB block, Hub/Central, shopping center etc. POSB/DBS have the most ATMs and you can find them everywhere. OUB and OCBC are usually nearby. Most locals have a POSB account.

I start work at 8am. I normally leave home around 6:30 or 6:45am. last time my work place is in AMK. start 9am. i will normally leave at 7:45am. won't be late.
if you are driving, spare additional 30mins at the time, then you won't be late unless some cock up stuff happens (like immigration system down, major accident at SLE).

Hi bro, that was very good info for me. May I know around what time should I start my journey by car from JB to Ubi by using Woodland if I start my work at 9am? From your advise is around 7:30am, right? Thanks.

Just checked and show Tampines was further from Ubi. Mean now you work there and start work at 8am and you start your journey at 6:30am? May I know by car or motorbike? Thanks.

No lah. If really work there, I rather stay in Sg. haha. laugh.gif

But anyhow, from Woodlands to Ubi aint that far. So traveling is still not a problem. The problem is when you go back after work. That's the issue. tongue.gif

i suggest you to try early a bit. i go by bike. last time when i haven get my PR, my experience is before 7:45, the car jam at causeway is very bad, but after 7:45, no cars at causeway edi. so if i late for work for eg, i wake up at 7:45, i leave home at 8am, i can reach AMK before 9. but if by bike, i can't because the queue is a lot longer. But for cars, around 6:40-7am is very jam. now everyday when i go causeway, the car queue is longer than bike.
so you need to do some testing on your own.also try to keep your self to the left counters. because the left side, there is only 1 lane (8 counters open) and you won't jam at the kastam side. right side got 20 counters. so you will be jamming at the kastam on the right. the left side you will be sharing with bikes and bikes go to different kastam counters. so you save time there.

PS: the nightmare is when going back. the queue at causeway is freaking long. no issue for bikes, its the same for us. but for cars, i think u at least need to queue 1 hour+ to get out of Singapore. Malaysia side sometimes need to queue, sometimes dont.

i stay not in JB town lo. i stay near Johor Jaya area. i travel around 55-60KM 1 way. 1 day around 110-120km. actually when you get use to it, its not that bad. i work 12 hours per day somemore. start work 8am, finish 8pm.
i wake up around 6, leave home at 6:30. reach office 7:50 like that. go back 8pm, reach home around 10:30 (including dinner). watch a 1 hour drama then sleep. not bad ma...
