Between HIVI/Swans D1080-IV and Edifier R2600 Studio 6, which is more better for music? Which is able to produce something close to reference speakers? Thanks.

probably r2600. But go for real studio monitor if you want flat sounding.
impossible to wall mount nicely.

Any recommendation for real studio monitor? Budget around RM600-700. Currently eyeing on Edifier R2730DB for its extra bluetooth feature.

honestly there's no "real studio monitors" that cost below RM1200

and honestly... once you get into real studio monitors... you realize in between studio monitors there's no real sounding monitors...

just get what you liked.  icon_idea.gif

I find the R2730 bluetooth feature drops the quality of your audio but it sounds good enough for daily use. pretty much contradicts with studio monitor.

I'd save a hundred more and go for R2800 for the size if you can afford. Bass can be tuned down with the bass control if you find it too bassy

Hmm, R2800..that's another Rm100 extra. I'll audition it and decide. Thanks for your input. biggrin.gif

BTW, you stated that the Bluetooth drops the quality of the sound, what about using RCA input to my PC? Bluetooth only for convenience connecting my phone sometimes.

cheapest among the market is wharfedale diamond 8.2 pro which is priced 800-900 one side.

I guess I don't need such professional monitors. laugh.gif thanks for your input on that. I just need something that sounds clean and flat. biggrin.gif

big room small room?
acoustic energy aego m can fill small-medium size room that sounds clean but not flat. need to top up budget RM700+

i dont understand, are you sure u want flat sound yawn.gif

Living area. I don't want unneccesary boomy bass or excessive trebles on default setting. Its ok if the sound is a little warm.

BTW, I though aego m selling at rm999?

reduce boom, move spkr away from wall. thats it

flat tuning has a lot more treble than u can imagine. due to human ears natural roll off, it must raise up treble to hear actual recordings.
the only good thing it does not emphasise boost at any frequency

last year it was 7XX not sure about new pricing

A forumer selling at Rm999 currently, out of my budget lol.

Not emphasizing boost on any frequency is good for me. I don't watch movie much, I only use for music most of the time and live talk show. So I wishes the sound is almost the same as original recording (meaning when there's high treble on the recording then the speaker produces sound at it is.)

rca will do things better especially with quality dac

just have the bass and treble knob on flat 0 if you want things flat.

no monitors will sound flat.
for work purposes an audio engineer will carry their own favorite monitors as their reference monitor because they recognize the signature. (same applies to headphones) wink.gif  wink.gif  wink.gif

Yes, I see your point. All in all, best is I just try the speakers and buy the one I liked. Thanks for your advice. biggrin.gif
