QUOTE(Cable707 @ Nov 14 2012, 11:07 AM) Hi all, I've narrowed my options to these 3 speakers : - M-Audio AV40 - Bose MusicMonitor 1100 - Audioengine A5 Price wise,similar..but dunno which suits me.. 40% music,40% gaming and the rest is for movies.. Thanks!! Edit :i'll be using Asus Essence STX as a sound card. You could also look at Focal XS 2.1:

It depends on the music genre you listen to. Focal Book XS has a very neutral sound and has very rich mids. Pretty good for desktop speakers.
But the limitation would be the lows.

QUOTE(hocksoo @ Jul 22 2013, 02:19 PM) Hi, I am looking for 2.0 speakers or 2.1 or even soundbar type. Currently I am targeting Hivi Swan M200MKIII and my budget is around that as well. I am planning to connect the speakers to my DVD / Bluray / TV use in living room (apartment type). Use it mainly on music (concert music) and minor movies. Here's my question: 1. Any alternative speakers beside Hivi M200MKIII? 2. Can Hivi M200MKIII connect to DVD or TV? What port they are using? 3. Do I still need to buy any DAC or AMP? (I am beginner only) Could check out Audioengine A5+

I believe the 4k plus KEF would be the reknown LS50:) QUOTE(zs3889 @ Sep 7 2013, 12:21 PM) I just moved into a new place, the room is kind of small and the sound isolation is not the best (sharing the house with other people), so I am trying to get a pair of computer bookshelf speaker (2.0 system), previously was using Soundsticks II and wanna try 2.0 system. I am looking to spend around rm500-700 for this, what are the options that I have? I have read great things about Audio Engine A2 but would like to know what you guys think and your recommendations, thanks!! Audioengine A2 has a very balanced sound yet can go pretty deep:) if u r looking for small foot print, look no further

QUOTE(AuraSapphire @ Feb 10 2014, 02:20 AM) other than the ones that I have mentioned. Any other recommendation? My room is about 2.6m x 2.5m x 3.3m. Its not very big, so I think 2.0 or a 2.1 system should suffice. Budget is up to RM1500. Will I need any soundcard or additional accessories? Check out Audioengine A5+

QUOTE(twteng @ Mar 6 2014, 02:05 PM) Hi everyone, need opinion on buying NAD d3020 pair with PSB alpha LR1 or Audioengine A5+ pair with D1. Thanks. They are both very different sounding sets D3020+ LR1 is a very detailed sounding set, ideal for vocal and instruments. Adding a sub such as the PSB Subseries 100 would add in more oomph. A5+ performs well in general music, adding a DAC will add in more details. (Both sets are avail for demo) This post has been edited by D_Y2k.4^: Mar 9 2014, 11:09 PM
