the exact problem of te old speakers :
1. everytime i switched them on, all usb powered stuff will jerk one time... probably because of the high power required .. they shared the same extension with the PC
2. the left speaker n its wire is ok, i swapped n tested .. when i press hard on the back wooden cover (the area around the red n white RMA socket), the left speaker got back alive ...

can i use the integrated sound card from my motherboard ? it has standard pink green n blue holes...

hows the quality difference to add on sound card ? or just different in terms of function ?
my ear cant differentiate between good n best quality of sound ...

im using the speakers for gaming .. 5.1ch.. bullet shooting .. wooosshh .. must be nice ..

then the broken wire is probably on the audio jack
what speaker is it anyway?

quality difference is minor if you are going to upgrade since it's just some standard computer speakers

so it's not worth upgrading since the on board is okay

pink green and blue is enough for 5.1

I'm suspecting the green wire where you plug it to your computer lol
cuz that one is prone to damage. sweat.gif

ya, it is damaged, when it does, the left speaker will be silent. so i swapped the left n right speaker, so that even if its damaged, the left speaker still can be tested...

very obvious fault is i need to press the back wooden cover then left speaker will become normal again ... confirm result. 100% successful rate ... but need to press kao kao hard ...

Digital is good if you have poor soundcard or you do not want messy wires

analog is good if you have good soundcard (plus you can experiment with different quality cables)

I have got poisoned and grabbed a set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 just on last Monday.

Overall very satisfied with the SQ, no review will be given as I'm not an audiophile but I'm truly impressed with the high quality sound produced from it in blend.

To give you some clues on where my judgement came from, I owned an ATP3 and a bookshelf Micro Hi-Fi - Yamaha MCR-040.

This is OLD but still GOLD, I have no regret in getting this even it was all unexpected by me to actually pay for such an expensive desktop speaker set.

Got it from Harvey Norman Paradigm Mall.

Have been auditing it at Epicenter Curve, IOI Mall, HN Sunway for several times and finally couldn't get hold of it and brought it home blush.gif
