Sifus, can recomend me a nice looking speaker to replace my vs4121. Budget less than RM800. My table not so big, approximate 120cm (Width) X 60cm (Depth) to accomodate large speakers.
Current setup placed sub at btm of the table

couldn't really explain much.

C2X has its advantage on loudness due to the subwoofer so you don't have to be directly in front to enjoy

R1280T is a close range speaker. While manufacture claims it's pleasing even from afar I find it noisy. But it's a better choice than C2X on close range.

depending on what you're using it for I'd still recommend a jump to Edifier C3 if possible (not sure if this model still exists)

I wouldn't call altec 45.1 better bass but louder.
All Edifier speakers generally had tamed bass compared to altecs famous wild bass.

Some may disappoint but most people who has gotten used to Edifier bass never go back to altec bass but shifted to HiFi

I see, maybe I'm too used to the AL bass.
initially I was expecting a significant improvement in terms of SQ, but it was a let down for me.
either I set my expectation too high or I dun really know how to listen. lol
