Barcelona's weakness is their determination (or stubborness) in insisting to play their passing game. Without the flexiblity, there is little surprise in Barca's gameplay and opponents can plan their tactics expecting the same Barca style.
Despite controlling possession >60%, Barca has managed few or goal chances against Bayern. If you notice, Barca's defeats often come from those who park the bus, ie Madrid, Chelsea, Inter. And so far Barca has no direct solution against these teams but to keep passing the ball and try to penetrate. It's a dilemma here cos the passing style has made and break Barca. It's good to be playing entertaining football and winning but sometimes, we just can't have both. |
